Overall the area is obviously stunning and beautiful, so that’s the main reason to stay there. It’s calm, quiet and a great place to unwind. The lodges themselves are a little rustic and basic, but they are fine. The service was super friendly and helpful. Was truly disappointed in the restaurant. The prices were expensive and for $45 I would have expected the seafood pasta to have fresh local seafood (after all…it’s located on the ocean) but the frozen seafood which barely had any meat to it was super disappointing. I was expecting plump prawns, mussels, clams and salmon which was quoted on the menu. The clam meat was nonexistent, the prawns were tiny shrimps and the salmon was lox. Just…yeah not super impressed. I honestly can’t say I’d likely return, but glad we had the experience nonetheless.

The property is beautiful. You are on the ocean inlet and have a chance to see whales, dolphins etc. The cabins are very comfy. Nice bathroom. Bed is good. The pictures show a beautiful dining room, tablecloths and all, but it does not exist. Some of our friends and us were looking for an excellent dinner, but all they had was one waitress, the food was bad, . Soup and burger is not what I call dining. Our friends were all the way from Switzerland and were totally disappointed. Amazingly the room rates are still for full season, but it looks like the place is closing down in a few days.
After coming back from a function, the parking lot all the way to your room is pitch black. No lights anywhere, luckily we had our cellphone with us. If it was not for the scenery we would not go back.. there were 13 of us staying there. Pretty well everyone said the same.

Unique and beautiful wilderness experience

We were not told when booking that the spa and hot tub were closed. The rooms had a cabin feel, which we expected. Definitely an older property. But the view was phenomenal. For the most part the staff were friendly, but when we tried to go to the restaurant we were rudely told they wouldnt take walk ins. It says reservations recommended (not required), on the website, and as we were travelling from Victoria, we didn't reserve as we didn’t know our arrival time. We went into town to the Clove, as it was after 7 and that was all that was open. They were super friendly and the food was phenomenal. It was such a nice experience that we cancelled our dinner reservations at the resort just to go back the next night. Overall experience was ok, the nice, quiet getaway we were looking for.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Beautiful place to sit and be right on the ocean. Highly recommend.

Amazing location, great staff, but what was once a glorious lodge has now fallen into disarray. Room was clean and comfortable but a note on tub said to use shower, not tub. Roofs are covered with moss so thick they look like thatched roofs. No blankets in bedroom. Views are incredible. Really wish owners gave a s$&t and would bring this property back to its former glory.

April Point has a good location. Our suite looked nice but a lovely touch was missing. Meals for dining were average and overpriced, the dining room was outdated. Waiters have a lack of gastronomical knowledge. Prosecco is served in a thick wine glass.
But for breakfast, you had to get self-serve a take-out box, which was incomprehensible, because the room costs $ 300/ night.
The spa was closed, no kayak rentals.

Staff on site were superb. The rooms are comfortable but the bathrooms need updating. They have an old fashioned shower head instead of a hand held unit.
The dining room needs an update. The food and staff were excellent, but the dining room is tired

First impressions of the resort were pretty good, sweet little cabin, facing the ocean, ideal for whale, watching, and sunsets. No Wi-Fi, TV in the room didn’t work, small leak under the toilet in the bathroom, jetted tub didn’t work. No Wi-Fi and no TV were manageable. Just would’ve been nice to know ahead of time. Notified the front desk about the leak however, no one came to address it. Some concern as wooden steps up to the cottage were rotting.
Great service in the restaurant from Rebecca. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre and overpriced.
Beautiful views from all around the resort.

Beautiful and very scenic. Staff were very helpful.

Beautiful scenery, friendly staff—however room was not as show on booking to be “deluxe studio”. Only one “window” for fresh air which was a sliding door with a broken screen- not the safest feeling or protection from bugs, and the room required air exchange as it was stuffy, musty, stinky ans hot.
Extremely old and dated room/buildings, much about the property needing repairs (all wood structures old and should be replaced dock was sketchy).
Parking is a ways away and not ideal access for persons with mobility issues.
Will not be staying or recommending this property in the future.

Lovely spot, like stepping back in time a bit. Could do a lot more with it by opening the spa/hot tub etc. but was a lovely getaway with fantastic staff.

There are some seriously mixed reviews on this place so I want to provide a balanced perspective. I don't make a ton of money and don't stay at a lot of fancy places, so staying here was a bit of a splurge for me. It's a beautiful old property... I read in one review that it's “a resort that is past its prime" which I think is apt. Clearly, judging from the derelict Japanese style spa building and the unused helipad, this place used to be a whole lot more happening. But for me this was a plus, I really liked the beat down yet dignified charm and the quiet vibe. I like places that look like they haven’t been renovated in 20 plus years, its like a time capsule. The dining hall is long and grand in classic west coast style. The view of the straight and the mainland is lovely. The staff are helpful enough, and friendly. The restaurant was surprisingly good with some reasonably priced items. I really enjoyed the fish tacos and the beef burger. There are also some more expensive entrees that I didn't try. The included breakfast is edible, with an assortment of items packed into a box that would delight a grade schooler, but would disappoint the boutique crowd. Cleanliness was excellent. I think this place is definitely good value for the money, especially since most rooms have a waterfront view. I have stayed in much worse accommodations in BC at a similar price point. My only major complaint was the state of the picture window in my room. I read in another review that the windows

Great location, nice staff and very clean. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that there was so much condensation between the window panes you could not see anything through that window, which is a shame with that view!

The location and views, magnificent!
They said it offered breakfast, however it is dried packed items in a box.
Very difficult to get around at night, no lights. We were happy we had a flashlight to get up the outside stairs at night.

The setting is fantastic. The tranquility and surroundings are superb. "Breakfast" was a cold lunchbox and the restaurant was quite disappointing, particularly considering how lovely it would be to enjoy a nice meal in such a lovely setting. Hopefully the restaurant will come back to life one day.

A beautiful property that is unfortunately very tired. It’s time to bring it back to life with more than duct tape and lipstick. There’s so much potential for this to be a 5 star property but I struggle to give it more than 2 and that’s all thanks to the view which is unstoppable and the sound of the waves against the shoreline.

A beautiful setting. A resort well past its prime for sure. Nice breakfast offering. Would be nice if they offered the ability to sort and recycle all the packaging from the breakfast. Beds were comfortable. A small room fan is available, but offers little respite during hot weather.

This property offers the finest water front views stunning to say the least, the rooms were very clean and contained all
Necessities in a very modest atmosphere .We did expect a warmer welcome however overall a lovely very modest quiet place with lovely trees and perfect setting to just re-energize. Well priced for what you get ,

The setting of this resort couldn't be more beautiful. The room was comfortable. We didn't eat at the restaurant. One of the only things we didn't like is the boxed breakfast which included things we don't normally eat for breakfast. And from an environmental perspective, instead of giving out free bottles of water (because drinking the tap water isn't recommended), give out 1 or 2 and have a water station in the lobby to refill them instead of more bottles. In that same vane, I prefer the dispensers hotels use now for shampoo, body wash etc and doing away with the single use plastic tubes for that stuff. I would definitely come back to this resort.

Beautiful setting and the cabin was clean, well-stocked with a lovely balcony overlooking the ocean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay longer next time.

This is a really beautiful spot with up close access to water the the abundant wildlife in the area. The place is clean and well maintained while not having the latest in amenities. But I went their for the rest and the access to outdoors and I got both. I frequently stay at hotels and this will remain one of favourite for it tranquility beauty and authentic west coast presence.

Resort advertises spa and it hasn't been opened in 5 years. Needs new decking as wood has rotted and the roof is covered in moss. No extra blankets on cool night. The whole resort is in need of some major repairs.

Excellent value for dollars, our dinner the one night was delicious, and the rooms and entire facilities were meticulously clean...only drawback was sewage smell near our room
