Very conveniently located, very friendly staff, and lots of charme. Plus we got an upgrade to a larger room. Totally recommend (even if it had no pool).

The staff were very helpful. They helped me retrieve my phone left in a taxi.

The Place to B&B deserves every positive review on this website and more! Alexandra and her staff are exceptional in their warmth, efficiency, and attention to the details that, taken together, make for a luxurious stay. A few of the highlights: A room upgrade! The bed! SO good, with comfortable high-quality bedding. Strong AC, very much appreciated in Dar es Salaam’s heat. Clear, courteous, and helpful communication, very nice when I had to amend plans due to a flight change. Beauty and intentionality in the decor and amenities - coffee & tea in room, nice reading lights, mini fridge with drinking water, lots of hot water and good water pressure in the shower. Nothing amiss. Perfect location, a 10 minute walk from Slipway and other great cafes, etc. Right next door to Capetown Fish Market. But the most amazing of all was the breakfast. Totally, over-the-top indulgent! Prepared according to individual preferences with options including eggs, bacon, sausage, croissants, multigrain bread, pancakes, yogurt, muesli, tropical fruit, avocado, fresh fruit juice, French press coffee… I didn’t eat again until dinner!

Breakfast was great, and the want for you to be comfortable and safe was truly evident. Booking in and out was simple and all was easy living. A nice little place, with a great wee swimming pool. The host shares her WhatsApp, so you are always in touch, which is nice. The staff are friendly, helpful, and caring.

You can hear the local bar from the room, which for light sleepers is not so good and people in the street. But I am a light sleeper. The bar down the road is nice by the way!

A quiet oasis close to the attractions in Msasani peninsula.

The Place to B&B is a very special place. The indoor pool and coziness really made it a choice we will easily make again. We were well welcomed, even though we got in a bit late & were well taken care of by Bakhari. The checkin was smooth and easy. The rooms were clean and spacious, we travelled with a baby and could all comfortably enjoy the space. We also had a nice balcony where we had a coffee in the morning. Victoria made us a breakfast to remember complete with fresh mango juice. The indoor pool and decor made it such a fun stay, we had a dip before our departure & were sad not to have more time. The neighbourhood is great, walking distance from a supermarket which stocks everything you could need & a stone throw away from the Cape Town Fish Market, an upmarket restaurant with live music & an ocean view where we had dinner. Thank you for everything. When we travel back through Dar, you will be our first choice.

You do need to keep an eye out if you are travelling with a toddler, as there is a pool right inside the property. Location is great but with traffic and road closures, it is important to note that the time to the airport can vary quite a lot. Good to know should you be on a tight schedule. (It took us around 20 minutes to drive to the B&B on our arrival & closer to 40 to drive back after our stay).

It's an oasis in the big city. Very nice room and great service 👍

Serene,clean and quiet location. Breakfast was very good, the variety is good. The indoor pool provides great relaxation at the end of a busy day. Good restaurant at the doorstep.

Friendly staff, spacious and cool rooms, wonderful bed

I really loved the charm and the beautiful room and the gorgeous pool right inside the home! It was great! The staff was so helpful! The breakfasts were wonderful and i liked being close to the super restaurant on the water for dinners.

We loved everything about The Place to B&B! The whole place was kept spotlessly clean by the wonderful staff, the rooms are cleaned to a very high standard daily, the pool is lovely and the little garden area nice and private for sunbathing, breakfast is very good, the best coffee! Location is great, good restaurant within walking distance and other restaurants, shops etc a 10 minute walk. Thank you for our stay, we'll be back :)

The bathroom is outdated and the water pressure was very weak. Couldn’t shower, had to bath.

Stayed one night while passing through Dar... - Staff and owner were very friendly and welcoming -Spacious bedroom with fast WiFi and strong AC, well equipped (kettle, mini fridge) - Just across from Capetown Fish Market, and a short walk (~10 minutes) from the Slipway - two major spots to check out - Breakfast was superb (best croissant I've had in Africa), and I loved that you can fill out your food/drink preferences in advance

- Pricey - Apart from the pool in the lobby, no other facilities (gym, etc)

Location was good. Near the beach and seav view restaurant. The room was nicely decorated. Looks interesting on images with inhouse pool. Feels safe. Good area. Breakfast was rich and very tasty. Very friendly staff, we watched world cup together. I am sure the place is better off when the owner is around.

There was no internet. Very little arrival info. The manager was sick and things seems to not work. Payment was a hazard. Ended with us sharing internet from our phones to be able to pay. The seating area outside for the breakfast was the parkingplace in the backyard. No mosquito nets.

We absolutely loved our stay! The room was spacious and airy and beautifully decorated and absolutely spotless! Alexandra was so kind to give us a free upgrade which was a lovely surprise. The staff were so lovely and we felt so welcomed, we really didn't want to leave! Breakfast was the best we had in all of Tanzania, as well.

Nothing at all, everything was perfect

Great personnel. Breakfast that we got served was enough for 5 people not 2! Everything clean and tidy and a lot of clean towels too. The place has a bathtub... The pool is a great addition. Would highly recommend for chill or romantic stay! Also the owner is the nicest lady on the world! Just don't forget to introduce yourself when calling her. Be polite, people!

The only trouble we had the TV's remotes were not working. Other than that our stay was fantastic!

The B&B was so beautifully decorated, quiet and boutiquey and we had a lovely stay. Right opposite trendy Cape Town Fish Market restaurant, it is also close to the Slipway area and really easy access to the whole peninsula. Victoria and the staff were so helpful and polite, served us an amazing fresh breakfast every morning to our request. The room was comfortable, we had the smallest one and it still had a bath/Shower in bathroom, air conditioner and fan. The indoor pool was clever as so clean to cool off compared to other pools we’ve seen. I would definitely recommend staying here over one of the bigger hotel chains especially if you want a romantic stay or peace and quiet.
