House was clean. Plenty of room. The beach is just across the street, which is nice for young kids. Jay was very prompt when I had a question. We had a great time.

We really enjoyed this property and it’s location. It was super easy to check in and book. The host does a great job covering all those details. Having a house with a pool close to the beach and duck was a treat. My only constructive feedback is some amenities could really use an update. In our welcome email this was addressed saying it will be done at end of season. I do hope it is. There were only two tvs in the house. One in the main living room and in master. The tv in the master is too small and too far away from bed. It was honestly comical bec the tv was so small it was hard to see. It would be nice for all the bedrooms to have an appropriate size tv. Now should that deter you from booking this house, absolutely not. It was a great property and a great experience overall and I think the host is already on top of this issue or so I hope.

Property is very convenient to public beach access. The pool is wonderful. You're on the corner of the main drag, so there is traffic noise, but you dont really hear it inside. The light on the corner is nice for being able to make left turns during heavy traffic times. House was nice & had plenty of room for our group of 4. Nicely stocked kitchen too.

We loved the house and location! Even though you are on the main road, it feels more secluded because your nestled in a bunch of trees. You hear the traffic but it still feels private.
The house was clean and nicely decorated. We didn't get to use a lot of the outdoor spaces due to the weather but there are several decks to sit on. Pool was perfect. We would stay here again for sure!

We loved our stay here at Beats Working. The noise of route 12 can sometimes be a bit loud, but the walk to the beach can’t be beat for this price point!! SUPER convenient. Plus you’re in between the main roads of Kitty Hawk and the cramped roads of Duck. In the calm, quiet part. Having the pool was such a wonderful bonus, too. There’s so much space in the house, and it has everything you need, without being cluttered. Wonderful place, wonderful location, wonderful host.

Great place. Beach was close and having the pool was a nice bonus. House was well equipped and very spacious. Very easy check in and NO crazy checkout rules or cleaning demands. We enjoyed our stay!

We enjoyed our stay at Southern Shores! The house set up was perfect for my spouse and I, plus our two teens who each brought a friend. It is also conveniently located near many stores. The pool was used daily. And the beach was fantastic! The property is next to Route 12 which was very busy on the weekend but learned to plan our outings around it.
Bill was easy to communicate with and very helpful with our needs.

This property is in a great location. Very close to the beach, house is very nice. They provide all the necessities for the beach. Check in and check out was very easy. Close to the town of Duck. Would certainly stay here again.

The convenience of the beach n pool were huge pluses

Overall the place was nice. One of the cleanest houses I have stayed at (even though it could use some dusting). Unfortunately our stay was very rainy and water leaked into the house but the owner/manager was very responsive. The pool was perfect and the light in it at night had my kids amazed. The house is equipped with so much extra stuff. We forgot a few things but it didn’t matter because the house had it. The walk to the beach was very short with lots of frogs and turtles to see. The beach itself is very narrow especially during high tide so it makes it difficult to find a spot for our big family during prime time so we would wait until late afternoon to go. It was our first time staying close to Duck so we had no idea traffic was HORRENDOUS on the weekends. Don’t plan on going anywhere unless you can walk (2 hours for a 6 mile round trip).

We had a family vacation - 6 adults, one teen and three children all stay at Beats Working fir a week beach vacation. It was wonderful! The house is in the perfect location - it was easy to bike or walk up into Duck for shopping, food and drinks. The beach is right across the street and it is easy to find parking and the beach is beautiful at all times of day. The house was in great shape and was just as listed. The pool is a great amenity and was a perfect entertainment for the kids. We would definitely go back! (This was our second visit!)

This was a great experience communication with the owner excellent, check-in was easy and the home is in beautiful neighborhood in the Outer Banks. The home was spacious and comfortable. We were a party of 6 and it was perfect. The pool was awesome and the beach was like a block away and private. Close to so many great attractions and restaurants. Loved the town of Duck!! My family of eight enjoyed spending time together at the house. It was conveniently located to all attractions including the beach. There are a lot of steps to climb and the home is not handicapped accessible which is as advertised. The pool is nice after a long hot day of sightseeing. Overall the home was in good shape but could use a deep cleaning. The home owner was accessible either by phone or text and I was thankful for that.

Great place. Had a little trouble with the key code upon arrival but Bill was quick to return my call with a new one. House is slightly outdated but was very clean. Great proximity to beach and walking trail. Pool was great. Pool guy stopped by mid week to test levels. All in all a great stay. Would stay here again!

This home had everything we needed. Beach access right across the street, pool was perfect, kitchen fully stocked, bicycles for the whole family. Loved it!

Check in was not smooth. The door code given did not open the door. Getting ahold of the owner took some time but we finally connected and a new door code was given. We found several cockroaches in the house, including in our daughters bed. The weather was pretty lousy as there was a tropical storm over us for five of the six days. The fishing trip we booked was cancelled as a result. Most stores were still closed due to covid19.
Overall not the best vacation we have ever had.

House and pool were great. Accommodated our family very well. Many amenities including bikes, games, pool and beach items. The beach was very convenient with parking and walks provided. Close to grocery stores but not in the immediate area, which was very nice. Staying in a residential neighborhood was not something we had ever experienced at the beach. The one downside was the proximity to the main road, but there is a stop light at the intersection which helped getting back in. The hosts were very responsive to our questions and concerns. Couldn’t have been much better.

The overall location was pretty good. Short walk to the beach approx 1/2 mile. There are parking passes for the nearby beach parking also. The kitchen/family room/dining room were well stocked and large which were great. The porches were fantastic with the lower one providing shade during the heat of the day. Now for the cons: the pool defeinatley needs some attention. The pool guy cam by once and only added chlorine. The pool needed sweeping and a bit less of chlorine. The unit could also use some cleaning in term of excessive cobwebs. Also spiders are evidently an issue in the outer bangs. They can be excessive in size but from what we read most are not harmful, however there were a number of black widow spiders in the pool area.

First time staying at the OBX and it definitely won’t be my last. The rental was fully stocked with pool floats & toys, beach toys, bikes to choose from, a closet full of games etc. We enjoyed playing corn hole while there and couldn’t seem to get enough of the pool. It was just a short walk to the beach from the place. We even walked over to Duck twice and hit the shops. We called the property owner once to find out about where the 4th of July parade would be and the fireworks and they were very friendly and gave us plenty of information as far as where to go and some fun things to do while there. We forgot to ask them for the code to get into the tennis court, couldn’t seem to find it anywhere at the rental. We took our tennis rackets to play but unfortunately didn’t get to play while staying there. My only complaint would be, lots of steps. Haha. Would’ve been nicer if the kitchen wasn’t on the top floor but other than that, great rental and very nice owners. I’d recommend their place to others

This house was perfect for our family of seven. The large dining table served us well for family dinners. We enjoyed lots of pool and beach time. The location was great- close enough to everything. The town of Duck was a frequent go to just to hang out, get Duck Donuts or view the sunset. It was perfect and wonderful. Hope to get back soon!

We loved our stay at Beats Working! The house had so much room for our group of 6 adults, 2 kids. The pool was perfect and the group loved lounging around and swimming each day. The location was great as wel - beach was close, bike bath was right across the street, and Duck was a short drive away. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for the perfect stay in Outer Banks!
