the location, bed was comfortable & the room was clean. overall the staff was friendly, except for the night shift girl.
the night shift girl was not friendly. We checked in at 1:45am on 6/7/2023. she was rude & double charged us.

The hotel was clean, the staff was great, and the rooms were comfortable. My cousin & I went for a weekend trip, and the price of this hotel for a 3 night stay was unbeatable.
The rooms were on the smaller side, as were the bathrooms. However, it appears to be an older property, so this is expected; and you don’t go on vacation to sit in the hotel room anyways. Also, this property is technically in the Tenderloin neighbourhood which may discourage some… but I can say that we had no issues at all.

Nice boutique hotel feel in the lobby, made a good base to adventure out
Room was very small, the bath very short. A little too close to some dodgy areas for comfort at times

property was quaint with an old style feel. Staff was very helpful!
The elevator was broken, so made it difficult to carry luggage to room.

The location was good. A lot of vagrants in the area, but it was convenient to public transport and shopping locations. The room was clean and the staff were fantastic.
We were on the 5th floor and the elevator was out of order the whole time we were there. Although coffee was offered in the lobby everyday, a breakfast option would be a great addition.

The hotel location is near the Powell BART station...only a 5 minute walk. The front desk agent Ariel was very welcoming, professional and friendly. I felt safe inside the hotel and guests staying at the hotel were friendly.
There are some homeless vagrants in the area who are under the influence of drugs and bothering people for money while others were openly injecting each other with syringes. I didn't like that the 2nd maid on day two felt the need to insist I leave a tip for cleaning the room. I would've done so anyway just as a gesture of goodwill but it gave me the impression that maybe she's not being paid a decent living wage.

the property was eclectic, cute with the British inspired decor. It is older, no bells and whistles but very clean and the towels were lovely. Bar tender Jay was amazing!
Location, sketchy area, would not be walking around alone.

It was only about a 25 minute walk to China Town and that the walk felt safe, day or night.
The hotel was clean.
The elevator was the smallest and slowest I've ever used.
The bar opening times were hit and miss
There seemed to be some shadey people hanging around the seating area in the bar.
The bathroom was tiny, so tiny that in order to use the toilet, you had to open the door and then squeeze yourself between the sink countertype and the bath, then close the door before being able to use the toilet.
The shower was over the bath tub but the bath tub floor did not have any grip for your feet so it was slippery when using the shower and there were no hand bars or grips to help steady yourself when getting in and out if the shower/bath. I slipped a few times, so have a few bruises now.
The room was small and old, there were chips or rips to the wall coverings, the ceiling fan was covered in dust, there was no light switch when entering the room so you had to leave a bedside light on otherwise you wouldn't be able to see when returning to the room at night. It was a noisy room, you could clearly hear people's conversations who were in the hallway and because people arrived at all hours it made for a noisy stay. Although tea and coffee is provided in the bar area in the mornings, don't expect any before 8am, so if you are looking for a coffee or tea before heading out to find breakfast, don't bother.

We really like the vibe. Carpets, wallpapers, and furniture remind me of historic UK hotels. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Nice entertaining area in the lobby.
A neighborhood is full of homeless, one might not feel safe.

Beautiful ~ fun lobby!
We were locked out of our rooms in the morning and our key cards wouldn't work.
The bar in the lobby wasn't open.

This is a convenient hotel with easy access to the freeway. The lobby has a bar and space to hang out and the diner across the street is very good.

The shower was really small, I could barely fit inside it, and the shower head was at the height of my chin. It took about 4minutes before the water was warm.
The heating was very unregulated, so the room was either way too hot and we had to open the windows and 2 hours later it was very cold inside.
Room was very small and not always very clean. Wallpaper was falling of and old leakings were still visible.
There was only one elevator, that should not be used because the permit has expired in 2018 and it is way to small for a hotel this size.
