The room and bed was very comfortable. the location was perfect.

The staff, specifically “Andrea” was very nasty. She had poor customer service, a mean tone in her voice and handled my questions in an inappropriate poor manner. We spent 2 nights of our reservation and asked if we could cancel the third night and not have to pay for it. The cancellation policy was somewhat vague on Booking.com and also their website as it said cancellation with less than 48 hr. or after arrival date was forfeiture of one night charge. it said nothing about change after stay has been initiated and two nights have been used and paid. I understand that every property has their own policy and that this was not allowed by the Marcus Whitman Hotel, however, my complaint is about the manner with which she answered me and her words. She said that they recently had new owners and now they would never allow no charge with less than 48 hours cancellation. However, she did say that if we had made the reservation directly with the hotel instead of through Booking,com, she would have allowed no charge for the last night. However, since we used a third party, she would not allow it. Funny thing is, that if I booked that day directly with the hotel, for the 3rd night that I wanted to cancel, their rate was far less than we actually paid through Booking.com. So they were still making a profit. And the cancellation policy on Bookings website says they follow the hotel policy. Why would there then be a difference? But most importantly, Andrea could have been nice about it all. She was not. She was rude, harsh tone, belittled me. and made me feel horrible that I even asked! She should be sweet when working with customers. It was a shame because up until that day, I loved our stay there and would have returned in the future, but she sure soured my whole impression of the hotel. It’s interesting how poor customer service can change a customer’s impression and make them not want to ever return again.

The staff is great. So helpful and accommodating. Everyone including the security guard made sure we were having a good time. The breakfast is good, nice to have coffee out there early, good fitness room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Maybe a cereal option, bananas toast...otherwise all good

Lovely Historic Hotel!! Grand spaces, nice restaurant, Bistro, Breakfast included, parking free. Right downtown! Walking to great shops, pubs, restaurants etc. Great facilities for weddings, events, meetings. Excellent value.

Breakfast was standard but tasty. Eggs, country potatoes, sausage, French toast, fruit, oatmeal. That was the buffet..

This place is AWESOME. The minute you walk in, it is breathtaking in its vintage beauty. One you are done ogling the lobby, the people at the front desk are AMAZING. Everyone we talked to there was super helpful, but shout out to the hotel manager who personally checked me in and offered me an upgrade to the best fricking suite in the hotel at only a slight upcharge (because the hotel was pretty empty, as we were there during Christmas). He was also kind enough to get us a bunch of free wine and distillery tastings, and also directed us to the nearby downtown and gave great recommendations for places to eat. Hot breakfast on the daily was pretty decent. We also ate at the restaurant one night and it was delicious, and the service was TOP. NOTCH. The room was HUGE and clean and comfortable. Everything about our stay was 100% amazing and we will definitely stay here again in the future.

Nothing, really. If I have to say something negative, it's maybe that I wish there was slightly more variety for breakfast? Like maybe more protein choices?

Breakfast was very good, bacon was cooked perfect. Lots of choices and lots of food. Added a lot of value to our stay.
