Characterful property with very friendly staff. Excellent food. We will look for the Graduate brand in other locations!
Lift and espresso machine were out of order for the duration of our stay. Air con turned up too high in public areas, although room was adjustable.

Great location, pleasant outdoor seating, spacious room, lobby/bar area inviting
As was communicated to us prior to our stay; no working elevators, though 4 story walk up was a surprise. Breakfast service slow.

Loved the style and decor. Staff was so friendly and the room was clean. The restaurant was amazing.
Nothing.

nothing
no wifi for 3 days. The lift is down for 1.5months, how do we carry our bags down the stairs? The powersupply got cut off for 7 hours. How do we do our work in the hotel?Worst stay ever.

Location was excellent. A leafy street with quiet surroundings but only 5 minutes walk to restaurants, shops and the beach. Also very close to the university which has a beautiful campus. Spending an hour in the evening sitting on the verandah with a drink, watching the squirrels and birds was a lovely way to spend time!
The elevator was broken but thankfully our room was only on the 2nd floor so not too far to carry a case. A storm knocked out the WiFi one day of our stay but staff were very helpful trying to solve this.

Beautiful hotel, staff was incredible!
Food and drinks at the restaurant were delicious.

The hotel was immaculate, the staff was friendly and helpful, the room was lovely!
Afternoon cocktails on the front porch were delightful!
The elevators weren’t working, but we knew that well in advance so rooms were only occupied on the second and third floors. Also, the staff willingly offered to help with bags! The a/c was set pretty low and chilly and one could only turn it on or off in the room. I turned it off and kept windows open, which turned out fine.

Rooms are reasonably nicely done, but a bit small. Bathroom had nice tiling and finishing, but the shower handle was hard to get to without getting into shower (i.e. I had to get showered with cold water to turn it on).
First hotel in years I've stayed at that did not have a working elevator. My room was on the third floor. No mention of it when I reserved or even when I checked in. Went back to the desk and the guy just said the elevators are not working and did not offer me any help carrying my suitcase up the stairs. Room was full rate, and more expensive than other hotels in the area.
Another significant problem is that the room had no outlets I could use. The only plug was recessed into the desk by a glass top so none of my charging blocks could access it. They had USB-A outlets, but being the 2020s my devices are USB-C. I even tried to move the desk and side tables to find the plugs behind, but the ones supplying the side lamps were behind a very heavy bed and the desk was incredibly heavy. I charged my iphone on the shaver outlet in the bathroom and was not able to charge my computer.

The staff was excellent.. courteous and attentive, our room was comfortable and quite well kept.. the bar and restaurant were used daily and were very nice..
It was a pleasure to sit outdoors on the patio rocking chairs each evening...
It could not be avoided and we were forewarned that the elevators were not working...

Excellent location. Friendly staff. Beautiful building.
Thin walls. Woke up when the neighbors woke up.

Great location. Unexpectedly good restaurant and bar.
No common rooms or lobby. You are either in your room or out of the building. The restaurant which opened at 5pm, was available as daytime work space but was very dark - an unappealing place to work or do mail.
Also elevator was out but Graduate had reached out to tell me that prior to arrival. Stayed on second floor. No problem!

Room is clean and bed is comfortable.
No help provided or offered despite of the broken elevator. Had to haul bags to the top (6) floor all alone. No house keeping until asked but only came once (after 2pm) during the 3 nights stay. Yet door was knocked asking for house keeping in the early morning of the checkout day despite the no-disturb sign was clearly hanging at the door.

Decor, restaurant, location, staff
1. No ability to turn the AC on--the room had AC but the thermostat would only allow us to turn it to heat. When we asked the front desk, they explained the entire building was set to heat only, despite it being late May, and they could bring a fan to our room if we wanted. It was 73 degrees in our room, and I prefer to sleep cooler than that. This is not an issue I've had before at a hotel.
2. No counter space in the bathroom despite it being a large bathroom.

We were on the 5th floor. Unfortunately the elevators were out but the walk up wasn’t difficult. The stairs are narrow with luggage however. The room was lovely. And I would have slept wonderfully BUT there were rowdy wedding guests next door that were loud late at night and surprisingly in the wee hours of 5-6:30 AM. But alas- that was not a fault of the hotel itself. I do wish the walls were more sound proof but perhaps no wall would have shielded me from the loudness of the people next door. Again- mainly the room was amazing, spotless, and the bed so comfortable. Will stay again I’m sure.
The out of service elevator but I’m Sure that was a Very isolated issue and it will bd fixed ASAP.

Convenient location, comfortable room (small size but has everything needed including refrigerator), good breakfast available for extra pay
Nothing really. They are currently having elevator issues but we had no problem with that. Staff is very nice and asked if getting a room on the 4th floor would be okay.

location, staff
The elevator has been broken for over a year. They keep blaming it on a recent storm, but it appears they have not made any attempt to fix it. In addition, there used to be free coffee in the lobby and they have removed that as well. If there is no elevator, at least they could give their guests free coffee in the morning.

The hotel is very cute its next to the Northwestern university campus. The rooms are very nice. Good size. The bathroom has a heated floor. Great shower, nice toiletries. Everything has a very preppy look. The bar looked very lively on a Friday. The hotel is on a residential street but it's a 5 min walk to a few restaurants, coffee shops.
3 things happened that were quite surprising. As I was leaving, walking out the door I was struggling a bit with my suitcases, the door man did not lift a finger to help. Earlier other door people were quite helpful. Also when we checked out the woman at the desk barely looked up and spoke to us in a very curt and impersonal way. When I checked in, the lobby, which is small , was very busy and crowded. I was asked for a photo id to check in. My passport was buried in my very big suitcase. I asked if I could get into my room and then open up my bag or perhaps move do a different area. I was told no. I asked again if I did not have to tesr apart bag in the middle of a crowded lobby. The tone of the staff person was firm insistent and a bit condescending. It was really not a good start to my visit.

The hotel has a really unique, classical style. We loved that. The staff was very nice and accommodating, the drinks at the bar were very good, and the brunch was delicious as well!
The vanes on the mini-split in our room were blowing the hot air directly onto the bed. The controls for them didn't work so I had to manually position them; the unit was also very dusty.
