Helpful staff, smoking room was available for my husband, small, clean rooms.

The staff was very rude and prejudice. She didn’t want to give me a non smoking room because for whatever reason she felt as though I smoked. I have Wells Fargo with fraud alert on my account and when they took my information my card didn’t go through and it said fraud on her machine. I tried explaining to her that it’s just my bank making sure it’s me, I even tried showing her the text message and she still said I was committing fraud and she’s not taking my card again. At this point, I honestly want to leave, but it was late in the evening and I just needed to sleep. Finally I convince her to take it again and it goes through. I go get my bags from my car and take them upstairs. When I get upstairs, the lady from the front desk is calling my room phone. I answer and she’s yelling telling me that I have too many suitcases and this is not a storage!? I had 3 suitcases and since when did hotels tell you how many suitcases you can bring? She also was very disappointed to see that my room didn’t smell like smoke when I was leaving. Because she threatened me that if it did, she wouldn’t give me my deposit back. She looked at my room, handed me my deposit and walked away without saying a word. I would never stay there again. Not to mention that when I was leaving my friend came to help me leave. She was waiting on me to come down, sitting in her car quietly and the front desk lady went banging on her car window asking her what she’s doing on her parking lot. That lady is ridiculous and they deserve to be out of business.

Woman at front desk was not nice, demanded cash deposit and room payment in cash, accused me of being a smoker and gave me a smoking room which stunk.

I understand this place fits my budget. It is older. I have stayed several years there for an event I attend that is close by. I like the easy access to this place and the small nature of the motel. The free off street parking is a good perk also.

I requested to plug in my PHEV vehicle to the outlet and they said no, "It would trip the breakers" so I complied with their request.

The area is really run down. I didn't understand that the app didn't take my money. So, we had confusion at check in. They required a cash security deposit.

An employee who had a very bad manner with me spoke to me in a way that indicated that she had nothing to do with this profession I asked her give me 2 keys becouse my wife with me she refused. And told me that is hotel Rules I asked her my wife will come after 1 hour and I should be leave now so I will leave key here in Reception she refused and told me that is hotel Rules 😟 I asked her if my wife arrive haw she enter Rome she told me she can wait u in the street 😏 I began to feel that I was not in a respectable hotel and began to get angry and with many conversations he came from her in an inflexible way she had to extract a box from the drawer full of keys and gave me another key amidst amazement at this rude way and said to me I am not responsible for giving the key to your wife you have to wait for her she had to leave The key is under the door and I sent my wife a picture of where the key is. The receptionist is supposed to be professional, smiling, and flexible with customers. She discredits the place and pushes customers not to book again in this place.

The only good parts are it's close to the BART Metro subway station "Lake Merritt" and you can transfer from OAKLAND int'l airport to here by only spending around 7.5USD and also there are many charging outlets available for use in the motel, and it costs less than 100 USD a night with taxes included!

Where to begin? 1. Taxes are so Freking high in Oakland area, YES! It's over 10.25%!!! Therefore, I got ripped off with taxes that should have costed just 649 USD for 8 lousy days in this place! 2. The Indian staff weren't all that friendly either, at check out, the guy almost didn't give me my 100 USD deposit back! I had to ask, glad I didn't miss it otherwise, it's even more of a rip off, like thieves!! I honestly felt scammed in a way since it was very cheap to stay there, but then all the frking taxes just adds up! 3. I can't describe just exactly how horrible & creepy this area is, especially at night, it's like a ghosttown. Yes, I know it's very close to the freeway, but don't forget lots of crazy, psychotic homeless ppl roam there! It's very close to Chinatown which is good for me, but the fact that you're walking on the street at night and can't see anyone else definitely generates some kind of discomfort or fear! 4. The worst part? Wifi didn't work for 4 hours on Sun 12 Sep, I called, but the guy at the frontdesk said can't do anything about it((( It marred my time of chatting with friends! Then water was out without any notice on Tue 14 Sep in the afternoon for about 3-4 hours, I really needed to wash my hands, and can't do it thanks to that! Jeez, throughout all the motels/hotels/inns I stayed at, I've never had a problem with WATER OR ELECTRICITY OR WI-FI! Seriously if you're gonna open a motel, please make sure all facilities are up to date and not gonna fail the guests when they really need it! Don't share, don't like, and definitely do NOT RECOMMEND this place! I'll never stay here again that's 100% sure!

The positive things I can say about this place are: I was not warned by Booking.com that this property charges a cash only deposit, but the owner or manager at the desk waived this when I didn't have cash. Other than the issues listed below, the room seemed quite clean. The bed certainly seemed to have clean linens. There were a microwave and many fridge, and the Wifi was strong, with the password clearly indicated on my receipt.

Unfortunately, I can't give any higher of a rating than 4 out of 10 because of a major deal-breaker for me: ROACHES! I saw three small roaches in the bathroom as soon I entered, and kept seeing more when I got up to pee during the night. When my partner turned out the bathroom light and then I went in again, there were a LOT of roaches when I turned it back on. Needless to say I insisted we keep the bathroom light on the rest of the time. I had already insisted that we sleep with the main room light on so they wouldn't come out and crawl on us or get in our luggage. This was a learning experience for me: in the past I had never encountered roaches at a hotel with a 7 rating or above, but I will now be checking reviews more carefully (or motels, as this really was). It was difficult to sleep because of having the light on, and when I finally fell asleep, I was woken up by a loudspeaker outside the hotel, apparently a police officer reprimanding a driver for making an illegal turn. The point is, this was not in a "great area." It reminded me of a weekly motel that housed long-term guests in which I stayed as a teenager. Lastly, despite this being a non-smoking room, the bathroom smelled of cigarettes.

Everything was nice and cozy it was quiet clean kept

Very near Bart to access San Francisco! The area was a bit run down but not terrible or unreasonably unsafe.

The owners take pride in their motel. The room was clean and comfortable. The amenities were perfect for a traveler - small refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, blow dryer, wifi, TV.

The area of town was a bit scruffy.

The young man who helped us, was very kind, understanding that I was there for a cancer surgery at the Kaiser Hospital in Oakland.

We got so lost trying to find our way to the hospital since Oakland had changed a lot since I lived there about 25 years ago.
