Location was perfect to break up the drive from Blacksburg to Snowshoe. Beautiful building and room. We loved our stay and will be back.

The Mountain Quest Inn was a great place to stay for our time skiing in Snowshoe. The hotel is located about 40 minutes away, and was a very cozy place for the weekend. The Safari Room was well-decorated, and we enjoyed the great selection of DVDs and books in the common area. Plus, the property was gorgeous.
Everything is self check-in, so there isn't any interaction with the staff, which felt more like an Airbnb than an inn / hotel. That said, Alex (the innkeeper) was incredibly helpful before arriving on property - and everything was perfect in the room.

The library and cucumber soap in bathroom

It was beautifully located, in rolling hills with a picturesque barn and horses in the fields. Very peaceful and quiet and it has perhaps the biggest private library of DVDs I've seen.
There's no breakfast on Monday or Tues. You're on your own. There is no cell phone service and getting on the internet can be problematic. Some might say that that is a plus.

More than your regular B&B, a unique place. We enjoyed everything this place has to offer, especially the beautiful library! And we feed the horses and mini horses. The breakfast was delicious and made-to-order. There is a friendly and somewhat spiritual atmosphere to this lovely place.

The only thing that we did like was the gentleman working at the inn. He was very helpful.
The inn is extremely outdated, even for a mountain inn. The cleanliness lacked. The hot water went out in our room so we had to go into another room to take showers. The inn reminds me of a home from a haunted house movie or story. It is not the best accommodations and we have stayed at many inns. They were not offering breakfast so we received vouchers to travel to eat.

We love the animals, the location, the serenity, the owners, the staff, the antiques, pretty much everything.
We love mountain quest. The hot tub was closed due to covid, but we get it. The 3d TV was off limits as well, two things my kids love.

Very quiet in a bucolic setting. Quite unusual facility with a huge library and very nice game room and large DVD collection. Each room had a theme and was furnished with antiques, books and decorations related to the theme.
Although this was listed under Marlinton, WV, it was about 20 miles outside of town. Breakfast was served at a local diner, and this was the only restaurant. We expected to be much closer to the bike trail. No internet or phone service.

The innkeepers were extremely accommodating and welcoming upon our arrival. The room was quaint and cozy and upon telling our hosts we were planning on drinking wine, they kindly left us wine glasses in our room. The library was impressive and will peak anyone's curiosity! We enjoyed the game room and felt the positive energy from the beautiful scenery. We plan on returning with extended family or a girls weekend.
