It's the swimming pool that made this hotel great. After a day of sightseeing it was lovely to take a dip in the pool to cool off. They even supply pool towels. The hotel itself was good with a nice spacious clean room with coffee and tea making facilities. There was a large complimentary bottle of water on arrival and they also gave us another. There were little bottles of shampoo and conditioner and a small bar of soap. The shower was hot and worked well, but no separate cubicle so the whole bathroom got a soaking. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. The hotel is in a good location for the town and it about a one and a half kilometre walk to the Golden Temple. We would recommend Manj Restaurant & Bar for a beer and an evening meal as everything is cooked fresh and very reasonably priced. Their fries and curry leaves as a snack with a beer are amazingly delicious.

Lots of showers in Sri Lanka, like the Freedom Hotel, have no separate shower cubicle. I hate paddling about in the bathroom after a shower. Otherwise all good.

Das Freedom Village überzeugt mit einem sehr guten Preis- Leistungsverhältnis und einer etwas abgelegenen Lage. Zu Fuß ist man schnell im Zentrum. Außerdem gibt es einen sehr sauberen Pool und seit kurzem einen neuen Mitarbeiter, der deutsch spricht und während unseres Aufenthalt super bemüht und sehr freundlich war. Immer wenn wir nach Hause gekommen sind, war er da und hat uns willkommen geheißen.

We had a pleasant stay at your hotel, for breakfast they serve fabulous sri lankan food and its very tasty, Pool is quite clean, room was very spacious and comforty, Staff is very friendly and they gave us full service very fast and that's appreciated. Die Unterkunft ist ruhig gelegen und eine kleine Idylle. Man ist trotzdem in wenigen Gehminuten auf der „Hauptstraße“ mit einigen Restaurants. Die Zimmer sind groß und gut ausgestattet, das Bad ist ebenfalls top. Auch der Pool war sehr schön. Besonders positiv empfanden wir die Besitzer, wir haben selten so eine Gastfreundlichkeit erlebt.

The small touches like the welcoming glass of juice on arrival, free bottle of water and fridge, tea kettle in the room. The staff are very friendly and helpful. And of course the large pool is a god send after a hot day of walking or biking.

Etwas zurückversetzt und deshalb ruhig (ausgenommen bellende Hunde und krähende Gockel), direkt angrenzend an grüne Felder. Grosszügige Zimmer, sauber und bequem. Total freundliche Boys, die alles machen, dass es einem gut geht. Der Pool ist super, gross und sauber. Es fehlt etwas an genügend Liegen und auch die wenigen Mietfahrräder sollten dringend erneuert werden. Aber sonst ein wirklich guter Ort zum Ausspannen. Wir haben spontan von 2 auf 4 Nächte verlängert. Leider muss im Moment wegen Fehlen (?) der Kreditkartenmaschine alles cash bezahlt werden. Das Zentrum mit Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants liegt etwa 10 Minuten zu Fuss entfernt. Dambulla hat uns als Ort gefallen, vor allem die Felsentempel.

Groot zwembad met ligbedjes. Brachten matrasjes en badhanddoeken als je daar lag. Erg fijn. Alles is netjes onderhouden. Fijne kamer met balkon. En goed matras en klamboe. Het ontbijt was zeer uitgebreid en erg lekker. Fijne plek om even als tussenstop te doen. Mooie omgeving.

De communicatie gaat via 1 van de heren. De rest kan bijna geen engels. Lokatie is op een wat verlaten stukje. 2 restaurants in de buurt. Je kan er een scooter huren.
