Nice and clean place, just as advertised. The place is a 20 minutes walk across a park to the city center We were a family of 4 and it was perfect for our 2 nights stay.. Cozy apartment right across from Vondel park. The steps climbing up to the apartment were incredibly narrow and steep. This is apparently traditional of old Dutch homes. The owner Jean is incredibly sweet guy who helped us with our huge luggages.He had was happy to help with anything we wanted about the place. Overall a wonderful vacation home in beautiful Amsterdam.

We had a wonderful stay in this apartment. Perfect for our family with two teens. Had all the amenities we needed for a 4 day stay. Very comfortable and charming spot. Jean-Paul was very communicative and helped with our luggage up the stairs, which are very steep. We would definitely stay here again. The Vondelpark is lovely and Amsterdam is a wonderful city to visit.

Great location next to the park

This was a fantastic place for our family of four (2 teens, 2 adults) to stay in Amsterdam. It is located directly across the street from Vondel Park and it is about a 25 minute walk through the park to Museumplein. There are also 2 tram stops within 5 minute’s walk that we used. The neighborhood has many restaurants (try Restaurant Blauw) and a small, well stocked grocery store. The apartment itself provided a nice amount of room for the four of us the spread out. There are two distinct sleeping areas with divider walls. The WC is separate from the bathroom so that made sharing bathroom facilities among four people easier. Jean-Claude was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. The stairs are very steep which is typical for Amsterdam, so you have to be physically able to climb them. We had no trouble with the stairs, just part of the adventure. Kitchen is minimally appointed, there is refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker, which was fine for us because we didn’t cook. We appreciated that there is a washing machine in the apartment. Overall, highly recommend.

Great location steps away from Vondelpark. Nice area with mostly local less touristy stores & restaurants. Check in & out could not have been easier. Host was friendly & helpful. The apartment very clean & felt cosy. The kitchen was more than adequate for all basic needs. Overall a lovely place to stay. I would stay here again.

What a lovely spot to spend our 3 days in Amsterdam! Easy walk everywhere - great restaurants in the neighbourhood and grocery store etc close by. The stairs up to the apartment are a bit daunting especially with luggage but Jean Paul was true wonderful and brought all our suitcases up for us - and when we told him our departure plans - took them all down as well. the beds are very comfortable, the space pretty and comfortable appointed - we would definitely stay again!

A great location in Amsterdam. Convenient to transportation, museums, and all downtown has to offer. Also a short ride to the airport. The apartment has a lot of character and plenty of space. The hosts were gracious and kind — they even gave us some sparkling wine and homemade oliebollen for New Year’s. We’d definitely stay again.

The apartment was perfect for our family of 3. It was clean and beautiful, with wonderful light coming into the Childs room through the large window. The bathroom didn't have a complete door, but the owners had a screen that you could put up that worked just fine. The stairs leading up to the apartment are quite steep and narrow. These would not be suitable for anyone with a disability. This apartment was conveniently situated off Vondel Park. There were many wonderful restaurants on the street, we would have loved to have stayed longer to try more of them out. The bakery Klopper Stolk was wonderful for breakfast treats. The Tulip Restaurant was one of the few that was open on Christmas Day and had excellent Indian food. Van Mechelan had more typical Dutch food and was quite good as well. I also highly recommend the Maritime Museum to learn about the Dutch shipping history. They have a guided tour 2 times a day, the guide was excellent. We also took a tour with Context travel in the Rijks museum that was very informative and entertaining.

Fantastic apartment that is very stylishly appointed and feels more spacious in person. We stayed very comfortably with our two boys who absolutely loved having their own space. The apartment is perfectly located next to Vondelpark and lots of restaurants but far enough away from the tourist traffic. We walked everywhere but a number of trams are at your doorstep. Highly recommend and we look forward to returning.

Living here gives you a feeling of being a local in Amsterdam, starting every day walking through the beautiful Vondelpark. It was one of our favorite places we've ever stayed! The rooms were laid out perfectly with the perfect amount of privacy, with plenty of space for 3. We loved everything about our stay and we know you will too!

We stayed two nights and wish we could have stayed longer! The apartment is great for a family of four, lots of room. It is located right across the street from Vondel Park. We enjoyed walking through the park, you can also bike there and have a picnic. Close to everything we walked to the museums, you can also take the tram, it's very close. Everyone mentions the stairs up to the apartment in their reviews and now we understand why, they are very narrow and very steep, pack light! They are not that bad when you get used to them, but you have to have full mobility to do them. Jean-Paul was extremely friendly and welcoming, he was able to accommodate our early check-in request, which we really appreciated. We had everything we needed and it was very clean. The beds were very comfortable, we would stay again for sure. Thanks for making your home available to us, we really appreciate it!

The apartment was the ideal place to call home for our family of 4 in Amsterdam. Everything was as advertised. The steps up to the 3rd floor are no joke! There is a safety gate at the top so I never felt nervous about it with the kids. We embraced it as it felt very authentic to the city. The apartment is spacious, comfortable, clean, stylish, private and conveniently located. Walking through the beautiful Vondelpark was a daily pleasure. The kids enjoyed exploring the different playgrounds while we enjoyed the picturesque views, people watching, and scenic walks to our final destination. The neighborhood cafes, especially SLA, were great and there is a grocery store nearby to stock the kitchen with fresh fruit and snacks. We didn't cook but everything we might have needed was there. The tram stops nearby make getting around easy when you're too tired or don't have time to walk. We used it on our last morning to get to Central Station with all of our luggage and it was easy. Overall, we enjoyed staying in a neighborhood and away from the center of all the activity, crowds and noise. We highly recommend this place and would definitely return to it if/when we return to Amsterdam.

We enjoyed our stay. Vondel Park is right across the the street, so we biked with our son in the park for a couple days. Otto’s bike rental wasn’t far, and it was the only place we could find that had a bike rental for a seven-year-old. The location of this apartment was great because our son didn’t have to ride in the busy streets of Amsterdam to get to the park or get back to the apartment. But there’s also a bike rental place right next door too. The park also has a splash pad and several playgrounds, and the apartment has two twin beds in a different room (but still open to the rest of the apartment) than the queen bed, so it’s great for people with young kids. We also found this place to be close to public transport. We could take the #2 into the city center easily by walking about 5-7 minutes to the stop. Just blocks away was also a grocery store and a place to buy toiletries like soap, loofah, lotion, etc. Close to restaurants and other shopping. As for the apartment itself, we found it to be very spacious in the living areas. Kitchen was small but had all we needed. And dining area had a nice size table for eating meals. Jean Paul and Lidia were also very nice and responsive. They even booked our taxi to the train station for us. Beds were comfy too. One small thing the place could use is an alarm clock next to the bed or a clock somewhere in the room. And as others said, the stairs are steep. Like they go straight up, almost like climbing a ladder. Would certainly be a problem for people with mobility issues. But we were fine, even with a little kid. Overall, I’d recommend it, especially if you, like us, don’t want to pay city center prices for a nice place to stay. And, to be honest, I enjoyed getting away from the rowdy center at night. It was very relaxing.

This property is cute, clean and in a wonderful location. It isn’t in the center but it is RIGHT at the entrance of Vondelpark. Really best of both worlds, easy access to the center without the price or crowds. It is also really nice when you get to meet your hosts and Jean-Paul and Lidia were both lovely and accommodating. Our flight was delayed leaving Amsterdam and they allowed us to leave luggage secured on the property until it was time to leave.

We really enjoyed our stay. Place is very roomy, great location with plenty of restaurants nearby and close to public transportation and a beautiful park. Note: apartment is on the third floor and the stairs are very steep. This was fine for me but a little hard for my mother. I highly recommend this place and the owners are very accommodating and helpful.

What a wonderful apartment! Stayed here with my husband and mother and it was perfect for our needs. The location was brilliant - it might not be in the heart of the city but a 20 minute stroll through beautiful Vondelpark will see you right in the heart of the action. The neighbourhood is excellent with plenty of good places to eat and drink and a good supermarket all just down the street. The apartment is very comfortable and relatively spacious given its size. The kitchen is small but functional - we were able to easily cook breakfast and dinner as we pleased. The beds were very comfortable and the apartment was beautifully clean on arrival. Jean-Paul and Lidia are clear about the steep stairs and they are likely quite surprising for first time visitors to Amsterdam, but if my 75-year old mother with a double knee replacement can do it, anyone can! Communication with Jean-Paul and Lidia was excellent and we really appreciated the wonderful online guidebook they shred with us ahead of our arrival - it was really helpful. They were very warm and kind and we enjoyed meeting them. If we were to visit Amsterdam again (as we hope to!) we would gladly stay here again.

Not only was the condo commodious with a small kitchen that allowed us to eat breakfast before beginning our exciting day, but it comes with two hosts, Lidia and Jean Paul, who also serve as sources of info about everything Amsterdam. We walked to the Rijks and Van Gogh Museums, and were easily able to get to other areas using the nearby Tram. Nice restaurants on the street, bakeries, and Vondelparc, a beautiful place to walk admidst flowers, birds (even some parrots!), and hundreds of Amsterdamers on bikes enjoying the greening of spring! A perfect location. The 48 very steep stairs were a bit intimidating, but Jean Paul graciously carried our luggage up and down on arrival and departure! And the views from the top floor were nice, and the area is quiet. A lovely trip to Amsterdam!

This place was wonderful, an oasis in a foreign city. Jean-Paul was a great host. The location is right next to a beautiful park and near some key tram stations. The beds were comfortable and the house was clean. We really felt at home here. The steep stairs were a surprise at first, but we got used to them easily enough. We’d definitely book again if we ever made it back to Amsterdam.

They say it's all in the details and from start to finish our stay with Jean-Paul and Lidia was that. Jean-Paul is a wonderful communicator and made us feel confident and comfortable about all we needed to know about our stay. He wrote back and forth to us answering all our questions and giving us information we asked for. He and Lidia were sure to be at the flat to greet us and aptly bring our luggage upstairs. The flat is conveniently located a few blocks from the #2 line of the light rail. The neighborhood is safe and quiet and filled with wonderful restaurants and inviting shops. The flat is perched on the top floor overlooking the park and we adored looking down on the passers-by as we pulled our shade up each morning. Jean-Paul was thoughtful enough to stock us with some groceries to start our stay. Lidia helped us with our personal needs as well. We spent some time with their two children as part of the home experience. Nice kids. The cozy flat had everything we needed and it was a welcome place to rest our weary heads after each day's journey. We often brought food in from the local grocery store and just relaxed at the flat for dinner. Jean Paul was well informed about tourist information and assisted us in making arrangements in Amsterdam. He was always reachable if we needed anything at all. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, truly have fond memories and will hopefully return one day to Vondelpark. What nice people.!
