Peace and quiet, tranquility, surroundings lovely views of mountains

3rd visit and I always enjoy the serenity of the location, the mountain view and modernised interiors of the units, and the central location

Great location. Well appointed and very pleasant overall.
Water pressure is low in the shower. Kitchen needs a paint but is well equipped.

No breakfast. Very central. Swimming pool , dam and views good.
Fridge did not get cold enough. Road a little noisy at times.

Fabulous place ! Gorgeous and very peaceful ! We enjoyed the view, the lake, the quiet of nature, the shy full of stars at night and the little monkeys in the trees !
Maybe add some little solar light at night to be able to walk during load shedding.

We spent a truly blissful week at Berghaven. The owners are warm and generous and nothing is too much for them. The accomodation is very comfortable and clean. On the premises, there is a beautiful forest, playground and swimmingpool. Kat has a wonderful little nursery with different and interesting succulents. Needless to say, we left with a whole bootful of plants. The view of the mountains is magnificent and there is lots to do in the area. We can't wait to return, but next time we will definitely take the grandchildren.

Very peaceful place. Have own safety forest, so kids may do trail by themselves and feel them an adults )

It was comfortable and well located.

Beautiful tranquil setting. The owner and Estelle were friendly and informative about the area. Estelle printed me some hiking maps. The cottages are very well equipped for self catering.
WiFi only works at reception and not in the cottages.

It was situated in a lovely area, lots of trees and close to most things in the area. Nice sized place for a couple, exactly what we needed

Berghaven is a relaxing and peaceful area to stay We enjoyed it very much Wonderful place to stay when you visit the drakensberg region Cat Estelle and Debbie are so friendly and helpful Thanks alot We'll come back to Berghaven in future

The shower had good pressure.
Views of the mountain although they were covered with clouds for the entire trip.
Kitcken has most of what we needed.
The lawns of the property are clean and well looked after.
The property was empty all weekend yet the owner booked us into the furthest unit with no view what so ever.
Plugs did not work well as we couldn't use both sides of the stove at the same time(power trips). The light switches needed some special attention each time we needed to switch them on.
Only a ceiling fan is available and rooms was far too humid for a fan.
Self catering also meant no house keeping at all.
Not enough towels as 1 use would be enough. They cannot dry well in the humid room.
Pillows were rock hard.
Check out was not explained so we went to reception and it was closed, we could still see people in the reception area yet no one attended to us.
Because our unit was so far, we'd have to he driving out or walk to see any view of the mountain. The view is what brought me here but I did not get any of that.
I would not say this was the most comfortable stay.
