Majestic appartamento con due camere da letto, situato nella The Chapter House di un monastero benedettino sulle rive del Loch Ness, noto al The Highland Club. La Chapter House era un edificio in cui i monaci si incontravano ogni giorno, per discutere di affari e per ascoltare un capitolo della regola monastica. Questo spazioso appartamento ha un'abbondanza di caratteristiche originali, in particolare una bella pavimentazione decorata nell'ingresso e un magnifico soffitto a volta in legno e una serie di bifore in pietra nella zona principale della reception. La zona giorno si trova su una grande galleria e comprende un salone open space, sala da pranzo, cucina e studio. Questa camera si affaccia sul suo piccolo giardino privato e su molte belle caratteristiche architettoniche dell'Abbazia. La Chapter House funziona molto bene per le prenotazioni di gruppo quando due o pi�� proprietà sono riservate; in particolare la Sagrestia che si trova nelle immediate vicinanze. Il grande tavolo da pranzo antico che può ospitare fino a 10 e una grande area soggiorno offrono spazio per intrattenimenti di gruppo.
Guardando giù dalla galleria c'è un sontuoso salotto con una selezione di opere d'arte originali e mobili antichi. Da questa bella stanza si accede al giardino con patio per cenare all'aperto. Entrambe le camere sono confortevoli e ben arredate con il proprio bagno.

This holiday was amazing. We took over four apartments between 12 family members. We travelled from Manchester and Stirling. What an experience! We couldn’t have dreamt for anything more spectacular and what a setting. Everything we needed was here. Fort Augustus was such a busy little village with cafes, gift shops, a couple of pubs. We travelled out on day trips to Drumnadrochit, Fort William, Inverness, Urquhart Castle. Three of the party even climbed to the summit of Ben Nevis. The grounds of the monastary are just a dream with the loch, the river and the canal literally surrounding it. Oh, some of us went on a loch cruise and some on the speed boat cruise, great value and a great experience too. I would love to return as we didn’t want to leave. Highly recommended.

The property overall is lovely, amazing architecture and the grounds are beautiful. The problem I had was the accessibility for my elderly parents. It’s probably my fault but the description says ground floor apartment, I did not realize it was actually two floors with the main sitting, dining and kitchen upstairs. It does say ‘ first floor’ but to an American that means ground floor. It was very difficult for them on the stairs.
The main area , on the first floor is great, well equipped kitchen and comfortable living space. The little garden is pretty but we didn’t really have the weather to use it.
The main bedroom was fine but the second bedroom is tiny , very cramped and hard to move around for two adults, also the furniture in there needs updating.
I understand that fire doors are probably required but every door in the apartment is heavy to open and closes hard. It’s frustrating trying to move around when no door stays open, there needs to be some doorstops.
All in all we enjoyed our stay but if you have any mobility issues it’s not for you.

We loved The Chapter House at The Highland Club. The entire property is amazing, and very interesting. We had plenty of room to spread out and relax upstairs, downtairs and outside in the private courtyard of The Chapter House. We only stayed here 2 nights and had busy days so we were only able to enjoy the property for the evenings. We wish we would have had more time here just to relax and enjoy the property. The location of The Highland Club is excellent...walking distand to restaurants, shops, pubs and of course the property is on Loch Ness, so just sitting on a bench watching for Nessie was part of each eveing and morning. We highly recommend The Chapter House as it is one of the few units on the main floor (no steps to haul luggage). The unit itself has a set of stairs with the 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, large living room and large private courtyard on the main floor then the kitchen and an open living/dining/office room with gorgeous windows and ceiling on the upstairs floor. This unit has plenty of living spaces for about any sized group. Check-in was easy if you follow the instructuons provided. Otherwise, may be difficult to figure out, but we had no problem as the instructions were on point. Ft Augustus has a handful of meal options, very limited after 7:30p (most kitchens closed at 8:00p). The Boatyard Restaurant is a beutiful place to eat. Food was mediocre, but worth a stop.The Bothy was better food and a more local crowd/pub. Decent shop nearby for supplies

Although we were just a couple of two persons, we certainly enjoyed the spacious old chapter house. Further it s a beaitiful area, with a very quiet golf course were we have played the 18 holes three times. It is a pitty that the Highland Park Club has no restaurant. Nevertheless the chapter house will be recommended!
