Staying at the Victorian Castle is always a pleasure. The decks are peaceful and have great forest views and occasional visits from local turkey and deer. The house itself is well appointed and cozy, and it’s a perfect location to walk into West Village. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else when visiting Cambria!

My family truly had a remarkable stay here. The house was incredibly charming and lovely, and the location was absolutely perfect for walks into town with my husband and little one. We truly loved our stay and being here.

Management was rude second floor guest shower leaked
Management accused us of to many people and that she was coming to do a head count. The shower leaked on to the main floor cameras everywhere felt like we had no privacy had that feeling like we were being watched lights flickered all the time wouldn’t recommend that house to anyone

Magical retreat!
The house was beautiful, impeccably clean and had everything you need for a very comfortable stay. It was filled with little private nooks and spaces for groups to gather. Bally the host was very quick to respond and pleasant. Would love to stay here again!

The house itself is very comfortable, well appointed and full of a wide range of art and books. We really enjoyed the privacy that this property affords, as you the lot size is large and you have no immediate neighbors. Maximum advantage has been taken of the lot with extensive and lovely tree-shaded outdoor decks. This is a primo rental and good value.

Had a great stay at this property. Plenty of outdoor space to enjoy. Fully equipped kitchen. Very clean and quiet. Easy walk to restaurants and shops. Not an issue for our family but would not be good for those who cannot walk stairs.

Fun house
Wonderful house furnished with period pieces to accent the "Victorian" theme. Kitchen has everything one needs to cook a fancy dinner. Upstairs Master bedroom is huge and there is a view in the distance of the ocean. More stairs outside lead to beautiful decks.

We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at the Castle house. The house itself is very charming. The beds were very comfortable and the linens felt luxurious. The location is convenient, walking distance to the village. We would rent this place again.

Neighborhood is quite interesting, and should be experienced afresh by guests as it unfolds through their familiarity That's why I gave my only 4 star (rather than 5 for the rest) rating on "accuracy of online listing." The aspect that could be seen as missing is fun, the unusual juxtaposition of the home and its contents, and the immediate neighborhood. Maybe it was just our group. Not boring! Beyond that, the place is spacious, makes for easy indoor/outdoor living, private with good vantage point on immediate surround, well-equipped, well-located, quiet while being right there in town, and as noted, a little quirky. Wildlife abound (I even heard Great Horned Owl nearby the last night). Thank you for the perfect place for our reunion.

The house is super nice and reminded me of the Victorian home I grew up in. But unlike my childhood home, this is in pristine condition. The kitchen is fully stocked. And views from the house are amazing including the view of the ocean. BUT the very best part is the outdoor space. There are a bunch of porches. The front porches are great for a meal or a cocktail. The back has two porches wrapped around a tree and surrounded by nature. We listened to owls and other birds in the mornings while sipping chai. And the amount of flowers and exotic plants in this yard is beyond imagination. I suspect over 100 species can be found! It is so beautiful to walk around and just look at the plants. I rent many amazing places from these platforms and this is one of my all-time favorites. It was only 35 mins away from the fiber optic light-art installation that happens annually. Pair them together for an epic weekend. The wifi was fast too.

Very clean and well appointed property that is fully and accurately depicted in the listing. We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the chilled wine that welcomed us! We also like strolling down to the village shops and restaurants nearby.

The home is enormous, open, wonderfully decorated, withe great views of the west village and some ocean. There is wildlife ( turkeys and deer in the yard) lots of hummingbirds and hawks and vultures right off the front deck. There is wine tasting (Moonstone winery) and a brewery just down the street. The home is well stocked, we just had to search for what we needed. There are new appliances, sinks and fixtures are in good repair. We were concerned about the amount of water we used. There is a major drought at this time (2021) all over California. So 3 nights and just 1 shower each. Please save our state be water aware. There are LOTS of stairs. Just be aware. No real problem for 4 senior citizens. Good Wi-Fi and TV was as just as you might need,.thanks for a great stay.

I would recommend this house! There were many beautiful options of places to hang out inside and out. My only qualm with the place was that there wasn’t a washer and dryer. But otherwise, great!
