We enjoyed our stay! Location was amazing with a short walk to the beach and downtown Del Mar! We loved sitting on the front deck and watching the sunset. The host accommodated our request for early check in and late check out. She also allowed us to add a night to our reservation very last minute. All around a great VRBO!!

We would 100% stay here again.
My family and I (2 adults, 2 kids (6 and 4) had a great experience at this home. The location is fantastic - it's a 3 minute walk to the 20th Street beach. The beach is amazing. And there's a lifeguard tower right at 20th St in case you have little ones. Plus, the 20th Street beach is less crowded than the 17th Street beach so this is a nice one!
Although the house is approximately 1300 square feet the layout makes it feel much larger. (And, parents - there's a separate room where your kiddos can watch tv!)
Allison is very responsive. The AC wasn't working and she had someone over to the house the next morning to fix. She promptly responded to texts and questions.
The only thing worth noting - If you're a light/picky sleeper, some of the beds are not very comfortable. We have a couple picky sleepers in our family (not me!) so this was a minor issue (but not a big deal).
We took our kids to Legoland, the USS Midway, and the Wild Animal Park and this was a great home base. If you're looking for an awesome location and great house, you should hit that "book" button!

We loved our time in the beach house. Del Mar is my happy place and we loved being in such a great location. Being able to bring our dog was so much fun also and Alison communicated promptly and efficiently.

You’ll be amazed at the beach access and the beach itself. There’s a beautiful access point about 100 steps from the house and the beach has a private feel and is almost always uncrowded.
The house itself is finely appointed and the hosts, very cool people, have accounted for everything a family needs for a San Diego destination getaway or beach trip. We’ll be back for sure!!

This house is simply charming and in the perfect location. The remodeling process has begun-but it does not interfere with the sounds of the ocean and the two minute walk to the beach. I can't wait to stay there again! My dog knows the route by heart now. Thanks for a wonderful stay. See you next time.

We travel often to the San Diego area and this was our first time to Del Mar - we loved it! The house was in a convenient location to the beach (2 blocks, less than 5 mins) and to shops/restaurants (10-15 min walk). The house was perfect for our family of 5 with adequate beds and bathrooms. We were there during a heat wave and were grateful for the AC and fans. The front deck was a perfect place for morning coffee, evening drinks. And if we were not enjoying trying out the restaurants in the area, the backyard had a trip and table and chairs that would have been great for grilling out. Plenty of beach toys and gear for full days at the beach. Allison was fantastic at communicating throughout the process. We loved our stay in this rental and Del Mar!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time in Del Mar. The house is very clean, well stocked and comfortable. Allison was a great host and very easy to communicate with. The house is two blocks from gorgeous beaches and about a mile from the lovely downtown Del Mar.

Amazing location in an amazing place
Del Mar is one of our favorite places; the icing on the cake was staying at this house! Love the quick walk to the beach, of course, and that she allowed our well-behaved pup to join was so kind. Alison communicated with us regularly so we had no questions about the process- the vacation began right when we opened the door. Much needed getaway for my sister and me. The yard is perfect; front porch ideal of coffee as well as wine and sunsets. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks, Alison!

Cozy cottage one block from the beach.
This house was built in 1945 and has never been completely updated so you have to live with a mix of the past and present, e.g. some of the windows (which appear to be original) cannot be opened as they have been painted shut over the last 75 years. Great location, very cozy home. We would stay here again.

Cozy Beach Getaway
We loved the house. It was roomy but such a cozy feel. Neighborhood was very quiet. You could hear the train once in a while but it was off in the distance. Short walk to the beautiful beach. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. We definitely want to come back.

This home is spectacular! Steps to the sand is an understatement. We absolutely loved our stay here. Neighborhood is quiet & clean, the house was super clean & had everything you could possibly need - we were very comfortable. We plan on returning for sure! The house was even better than it seems in the listing! You really will have everything you need when renting this property for the kitchen, beds, baths and beach! We really appreciated having the beach cart to take all of our stuff the 1 block to the beach.
We loved our time staying at this property, the only problem was our stay wasn't long enough.

Fabulous Family Beach House
We had an amazing two week stay in Del Mar. This home is exactly as described! It is charming, VERY comfortable, lots of room and an easy 2 minute stroll to the beach! The backyard has a bbq and great patio for outdoor dining. The outdoor shower was great for rinsing off after the beach. The property manager, Allison, was great to work with. We would love to stay again next summer!

Well appointed and Great location
Our family has done many VRBOs over the years, and this was one of the best. Allison's house is very well kept, well stocked and conveniently located. We had everything we needed in the kitchen including plenty of paper products, etc. that are often overlooked. There was a cool cart to wheel 4 beach chairs, an umbrella, boogie boards and sand toys to the beach. Allison was an awesome host - very prompt and thorough communication. Thank you, Allison! We will look forward to hopefully staying at your lovely home again.

Clean, welcoming, fun, close to beach
Stayed here with my family of five, mother in law, brother-in-law, his wife and their baby. Appreciated that Allison double checked with us before we booked to confirm that the sleeping arrangements would work for us. It was a bit cozy for that many people (the dining tables inside and in the beautiful backyard both sit six comfortably), but we had reviewed dozens of properties for our beach stay near San Diego and felt like this was the best option for the price/proximity to beach/location/cleanliness, and we wanted to make it work. We weren't disappointed.
The yard was well taken care of with beautiful flowers and a lemon tree. The home was clean-which was very important for my particular in-laws to feel comfortable- and had a welcoming style. It was close enough to the beach I could carry a wet young child in each arm home in a couple of minutes without tiring.

Fun, comfortable beach cottage
We enjoyed a month long stay in this clean, updated beach cottage. The location in the beach colony is terrific for access to wonderful Del Mar beach and Powerhouse park. The listing is quite accurate. Home is remarkably quiet, neighbors are friendly, and passing train noise is not bad (entire beach colony is subject to passing train noise). The rear patio is sun drenched and private. Owner is great to work with and super responsive. We look forward to another visit!

One of our all-time favorite beach cottage rentals
We've vacationed all along the coast: Coronado, La Jolla, Solana Beach and Carlsbad and this was our first stay in Del Mar. This house was closer to the beach than I expected...a very easy walk and the beach cart made it even easier. I was told that the surfing right at 20th was great for beginners so my girls took a lesson when we first got here and wanted to do nothing else for the rest of our trip. The house is well provisioned, clean, and comfortable. A great stay!

This house is in an ideal location...beach and restaurants are only minutes away. It is very charming and was clean upon arrival. They also provide beach essentials such as towels, chairs etc.. We enjoyed our stay very much. Would definitely recommend this property to friends.
