The property was very comfortable (the sofa had a couple tears in it). It is just a short walk to enjoy a meal at the Fisherman bar on the pier. The kids enjoyed using the heated pool. For the most part, the complex is very quiet.Our one issue was that the elevator stopped working for part of a day. We could easily take the stairs, but we had one person using a walker and they couldn't get upstairs to the unit.I would definitely stay here again.

This property is ideally located in a wonderful vacation destination. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds are comfortable. The view was excellent. The price point was reasonable. I would recommend this place to anyone as long as I knew the potential renter: 1)Would be fine with the 10PM -8:00 AM lock-down rule and 2)Is not overly particular about how well maintained a place is. It doesn’t bother me if the washer and drier are broken, the sofa has torn fabric or if a lot of bulbs are burned out, but I know some people are bothered by this type of thing. If you are not too picky, go to bed early and appreciate a great view, I would absolutely recommend staying here.

The unit was filthy. The carpet and rugs were grungy dirty. There is no AC and the box fans had hanging dust and soot from the blades. The clothes dryer was out of service. The ice maker was mot working. Did not use the dishes, but he beverage glasses were filmy.. requiring wash before use. Minimal supply of toilet paper and paper towel. Photos upon request

The location was awesome, with plenty of room for the whole family. The unit is a little outdated and has no A/C. The sheets were dirty and had to be washed. The dryer was broken, so we had to hang dry all items.

This property has a great location in San Clemente-close to the beach, pier, restaurants and shops. My only slight complaint is that the beds could be more comfortable.

Loved the place! Super close to the Ocean with great view off the balcony. We also loved the fact that there is a pool of ocean swimming isn’t your thing. Great experience.

We immediately felt safe at the property, as well as in downtown San Clemente. The property and location was perfect and the views are amazing! Not only did we a have short walk with front row seats to a beautiful beach, but also just a short walk to downtown shops and restaurants. It's also conveniently located just an hour from LA and an hour from San Diego. We loved our stay and plan to come back here again with friends.

The directions Valerie sent to get into the property were not quite right but a quick call to Valerie and we were in.
The cleaning service could have been a bit better (we found a pair of men's underwear sticking out from under the couch) and unfortunately the dryer didn't actually dry anything.

The location was fabulous. Arrive rested and before dark because entry is tricky. Kitchen has everything you'll need. The balcony has wonderful views sunrise to sunset. Lovely restaurants within walking distance. Beautiful beach trail and pier. Don't miss out on the gardens and history of Casa Romantica Museum right next door. Condo is getting a bit worn and needs some attention, but it's clean.

Starting with the positives, the location of this property can't be beat! The view from the deck is amazing and it was a short walk down to the beach. The pool area is a nice amenity. Our communication with Valerie prior to the trip was less than ideal. I did not receive information regarding payment and she did not respond to messages, we had to call to get that sorted out. When we had not received any check-in information a day or two out from our trip, that too required a phone call prompting her to send instructions. The check-in process involves going in the unit to get the garage door opener so you can park and unload. When we went in to grab that, my husband used the bathroom quickly. He noticed a small amount of toilet paper but assumed it was leftover from cleaning and didn't think much of it. He didn't use any more toilet paper, flushed and we went down to get our luggage. When we came back, the toilet had overflowed and continued to run the entire time we were gone, resulting in standing water throughout the bathroom and foyer area. Additionally, there were ants in almost every room of the house- in most cases eating the food that was left on the floor, but also traveling along the walls and floors between rooms. When I called Valerie, she told us to get towels and clean up the water and stated that everything was clean when she was there the day before. In hindsight, I can see that she could not have expected the toilet to overflow and may have thought we were responsible, but it was certainly not a relaxing start to our vacation. Valerie was not interested in making the situation better for her guests, instead suggesting that if we were unhappy she'd rather we not stay. I would rather not have stayed either, but there was nothing else available for our group last minute. When I asked if someone could come over to thoroughly clean the property, she said no, that she had no reason to think it needed cleaning. I'm sorry, but the toilet water and ants beg to differ. Obviously we weren't going to stay overnight with swarms of ants but, with no other options, purchased ant spray and cleaning supplies and cleaned the property ourselves. Valerie never came to pick up the wet towels and rugs, no one dropped off ant spray, and I never saw the whopping $50 refund she offered for our trouble. The linens were clean but the couch was filthy. This unit has potential but I would not recommend staying here.

Great location , not very clean. Damp linens , towels , candy wrappers on floor . No hot water in kitchen , no working dishwasher , no TV , washing machine or WiFi . We had to go to a coffee shop or library for work / homework . Paid too $ for all of these accommodations, NONE were available! Host , Valerie was difficult to get ahold of at times . She expected us to wait for plumber, maintenance or to leave to place unlocked. All of which are not our problem. We will never rent from Valerie again !

Really enjoyed our weekend getaway in San Clemente. The property is very close to the beach and pier - perfect for morning coffee and watching surfers.

First off let me say the overall location and view in this property are amazing! It is a short walk to the beach and also a short walk to downtown shops and restaurants. The unit itself was a little worn around the edges and could use updated fixtures and paint. There were plenty of dishes and towels and also a few games and beach toys in the unit. We had a few issues with the amenities in the unit. The WiFi was extremely poor such that we weren’t able to use it at all and had to rely on our phones for all internet use. The fireplace was also not functional, as was the clothes washing machine. We reached out to the host on these two items but they were never fixed. Since we were traveling with kids, a functional washing machine is a must and we had to wash clothes in the sink instead unfortunately. Just a heads up that the amenities in the listing may not all be in a functional state. The other unexpected drawback was scaffolding was installed in front of a portion of the balcony, obstructing some of the gorgeous view and sun on the balcony. Overall we enjoyed our stay even though there were several items that were not functional as advertised.
