Great location, 2 streets back from the beachfront, easy 2 minute walk to the beach, pier, beach trail, coffee shops, restaurants, convenience store. More restaurants & boutique stores just up the road. Lovely apartment - cozy, spacious, comfortable & homely. Kitchen was well stocked. Host was super accommodating to all our needs & requests. Very happy overall.

Me and my daughters had a great time during our stay at the castle! Super spacious and in a great location too. Only a 5 minute walk from the San Clemente pier. The rooms were cozy and we had a pretty view from the living room windows! Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing stay.

Our stay was so relaxing. The place was in walking distance to everything we could possible need. It was stocked well with all we could need, didn’t have to worry about anything.

We had a great 4-5 day stay (family with 2 children, 13 and 10). The place was very clean and had everything we needed. Easy walk to beach, shops and restaurants. My favorite feature was the view of the beach from the corner window, great place to drink coffee in the morning! The owner responded promptly to the one (minor) issue we had. Would recommend and would definitely stay here again.

This house was perfect for us. It is situated nicely between downtown and the ocean, which provided ample opportunity to burn calories walking up and downhill, shopping and plenty of eating and cocktailing. No need to drive once you get there, unless you want to venture outside of the area! There is a grocery store located very close by for stocking up. The homeowner was great at communicating before and during the trip. Thank you for a beautiful stay away from the cold in the heart of winter!

My family loved everything about our stay here! From the ease of check-in and great communication w/ the owner to the beautiful view and location to the little things like having a toy bin and beach cart/chairs, the entire experience was very positive and made for a super relaxing vacation. We highly recommend this property and hope to stay here again some day!

The Castle was very impressive. When we arrived we noticed that everything was updated and we loved the way the place was decorated. It was clean and everything worked without any problems. We also loved the location which was minutes from the beach. We had a wonderful time and would recommend the Castle to our friends and family.

We loved our stay at this beach home! It was roomy, extremely clean, in a perfect location, and had everything one could need for a perfect trip! We enjoyed the short walk to the pier with fun restaurants, outdoor dining and entertainment. The porch was a relaxing place for coffee and enjoying the ocean views. The entry porch was relaxing and decorated so beautifully! The house has everything you could possibly need for a wonderful vacation!!! Can't wait to come back!

We could walk 2-3 blocks to the pier, beach and walking trail, snack on ice cream, crepes, coffee and other goodies. It's a 5-10 minute lovely walk gradually uphill) into town.
Be aware that the parking space in front of the garage is short and narrow with adjacent ones for residents. Go slow and it will be ok. Stairs up to the apartment.

This was our fourth stay at the Castle. The appartment is close to the beach, well equipped, and suited for families with toys, babybed, highchair and beach equipment. Lorrain is the perfect host, making sure we have a nice stay. There will definately be a fifth stay. Thank you again!

This is hands down the best property to rent in any beach town! I can't say enough about the location, the cleanliness, the communication, the amenities, it is all 5 star!! This is our third time at this property and I am already booked in July! Now I just book a year in advance so I can be sure we have a spot! The only reason I don't want to give a good review is because then I have competition on my booking dates :) ha ha! Everyone should want to stay here. I absolutely love how each time we visit she has changed a little something and made it even more comfortable, for example, this trip I noticed new towels and rugs in the bathroom, along with a new front door with keyless entry...it's the little touches that she does to make sure it's just like home. Lorraine is by far the best communicator for any VRBO house we have ever stayed in, she sends you all the information far enough in advance and checks in on you to be sure you got in ok, and checking out is easy too! We love Lorraine and the property!! Thank you again for making our beach vacation enjoyable, we appreciate you.

Well, I guess all you have to know is that the second day of our stay, we reserved the property for three weeks next year! This is our 4th visit to San Clemente, and we have found a "home."
Why? This place is just about perfect! Obviously, the location is a plus. Located in the Pier Bowl it is minutes to the beach or to restaurants on Del Mar. The living room and kitchen are the heart of the home. There is a lovely view of the ocean and comfortable furniture. The kitchen was very easy for cooking with updated appliances and utensils. Lorraine has thought of everything, the decorating is superb, with "extra" touches everywhere. This place does not feel like a rental! We particularly loved the plants and succulents that graced the entry space, balcony, and bedroom balcony. The photos of the unit are accuarate, but actually better, everything was very clean. Lorraine was very accommodating, we had the feel she really wanted us to be comfortable. This place is a jewel!

The unit has a excellent layout including an unusually large living space which was a perfect gathering space when our area relatives came for dinner. This room has a great, if limited, view of the water with Catalina Island in the distance— nice spot for watching the gorgeous sunsets. It’s a very short walk (a little steep, but even we old folks managed just fine!) to the waterfront where there are several cute restaurants and a small market. There are steep steps up to the unit but, again, we are mid-70’s and had no problem managing. Finally, downtown San Clemente has several really cute shops and lots of good restaurants. We look forward to returning here for another visit in the Spring or Summer!

This apartment was perfect for my husband & I. It felt and looked clean. Beautifully furnished and very spacious. Nicely equipped kitchen: great appliances, dishes, cookware, plates, silverware - we lacked for nothing. It was nice to have a washer/dryer in the unit and also air-conditioning, although we didn't need it all the time. Pictures and description are accurate. The location is great--only 2 blocks to Pier. Stairs to apartment were very doable for us. It is up on the first landing. We liked the key-lockbox because we didn't have to worry about losing the key. We really loved this apartment and location and would stay again. Highly recommend!

Only 1 recommendation: have a recycle can in the condo so it is easy to keep separate from trash since you have a recycle bin in the garage.

This property couldn’t have been better. It was SO clean, the kitchen had everything you could want, the furniture was great and all the decoration was just perfect. The beds were really comfortable which is so often not the case. The apartment was literally one block from the ocean and little street side restaurants. It has a view of the ocean, though not a big one, but just lovely to sit on the balcony early in the morning with a coffee, and in the evening to see the sun going down. Though we didn’t use it, the BBQ looked brand new. This was without doubt the best quality home we have rented for a vacation and we have already booked for a longer stay for next year! Thank you Lorraine!!

Loved this property. They have thought of everything. Very quick walk to to the beach. Going to the beach easier than returning but only because coming back is up the hill. The condo is about 4 buildings up the hill/street. Sunsets amazing from balcony. You can see the beach from the condo as well as heat the waves crash. The condo was very clean when we got there and was ready for us to use. She even told us we could get there early if need be. Overall great experience and it deserves 5 stars. We stayed 2 weeks.

This 2 bedroom condo was just as-advertised and just what we wanted! My wife and I and our 2 young kids had a wonderful week enjoying the views, the easy walk to the pier, beaches, and local shops, and just enjoying the space. It had all the beach gear and kid gear we could need and more, and the host was very proactive and helpful -- smooth check-in process, easy check-out, and very responsive and over-the-top customer service when we had a minor issue during our stay. We had our car with us, but if not this location would have worked great to get around San Clemente on the free trolley that picks up right at the pier! Would love to come again!

Just a short walk to the beach... pier... shops and restaurants. Property had everything... including a wine fridge! Great balcony for coffee... breakfast in the morning and wine... cocktails in the evening. We will go back.

We had a wonderful time in this lovely condo! It was a very pleasant space with nice, fresh decor, and everything exceeded our expectations. Kitchen and bathrooms well stocked, appliances new, and the space was very clean. The washer and dryer were a nice perk, as were the three separate balconies. Also enjoyed using some of the beach equipment. Location can't be beat, walking distance to beach and the pier -- and a good workout coming up the hill! Lorraine was very responsive and made everything related to check in and out very easy. Would definitely stay again!

The house was perfect for our family of 5 (kids ages 8-12). So easy to walk to and from the beach. The home is beautiful and comfortable and has everything we needed. We loved it here and would highly recommend it!

We had a well stocked kitchen, large living area, great location, especially loved the dutch door that allowed us to quietly step out into the deck without disturbing others. Usually spent our mornings and evenings on front balcony and put good use to all of the beach supplies in the garage.

Our stay at the condo was wonderful. The property is right where you want to be if you’re looking to be a short walking distance to the beach, pier, restaurants and more. Another perk for our family were all the baby items that the owner had available (crib, high chair, stroller, beach toys, pack and play). It made it much easier for us to not have to travel with all this stuff and made our first trip with a one year old more manageable. My husband was able to walk 5 minutes to surf the pier, 10 minutes to surf T-Street, or drive 10 minutes (then walk) to surf at Trestles. Overall I would recommend this condo and the owners were very quick to respond and easy to communicate with.
