The location is absolutely awesome. It takes less than an hour to get to the airport (there are two routes to choose from, either via Funchal or the northern part of the island. Once you are in Sao Vicente, it's really easy to get to the most popular spots, including Pico Arieiro, Fanal forest, 25 fontes and Sao Lorenco. Porto Moniz is really close and takes twenty minutes to reach. The hostel itself is located right next to the ocean (there is a nice video on google maps worth taking a look at), and you can walk down the stairs to sit on the rocks. There is a parking lot opposite the place dedicated to the hostel, and the area is really safe, just like the whole island. There is a huge supermarket nearby and the town boasts a few restaurants and cafes. The place is well kept and there are loads of accessories to use, CDs, books etc. The host is probably the best in town :) I absolutely recommend and will definitely book again when I revisit.
