Property was just as listed . Everything was very clean and had everything we needed . Maria was very quick to respond. We got in late and had a little confusion as to where the “front door” was which we realized jt was the slider entrance. Close to town and great neighborhood .

This property and its owner are the greatest!!! Situated right on the ocean, with a beautiful deck and observation tower!!!! The rental property was so beautiful and homey!!! The owner definitely cares about the property and your experience as a visitor!! Lots of info on the area is right there available for you when you arrive!! Our only regret was that we didn't book for longer, and that we didn't get more time to visit with the owner because I'm sure we would have become great friends!! Mahalo!!!

The location is perfect 😍 and the hosts were so welcoming and friendly. You will love the observation/overlook deck. Great for watching surfers
and having coffee or cocktails 🍹. I will definitely be back.

They let us access the upper deck area. Very nice of them.
The property is very small and not good for 3 people. Bathroom hot water runs out quickly if you take bath back to back.
Other than too small, less pots and pans everything was ok. Mainly good for surfing friends and not ideal for family mainly because small and far from all places

These guys are great at entertaining guests!! We never met the actually hosts, but their daughter Rachel was awesome! Checked in multiple times just to make sure we were having a great time in Hilo! Which we did!!! Wake-up w/ coffee and go say hi to the surfers in the morning! Honoli’i Beach is literally one minute away on foot. At night watch the sunset from the houses very own “watch tower”?!? Extremely cool! Also my wife and I are cat lovers!! We will miss you Shadow, Mango, and Libby!!! They are all well-behaved kitties!!!

This was a great place to stay while we explored the Hilo side of the island. The studio was very clean, bed was comfy, garden was gorgeous, and the outdoor cats were a plus. Our host, Marie, was very friendly and accommodating.

Marie & Greg were great hosts who thought of every detail to provide an amazing home away from home. The pictures dont even do it justice. We would love to come back! Book their spot, you will be very pleased!!

Just minutes from Hilo and a short drive to Akaka Falls. The guest house is very clean, the bed is comfy, and the hosts have provided all that you need to prepare meals. Complimentary bottled water and soft drinks were a plus! We enjoyed our breakfast in the lookout tower (fabulous ocean view) and found the neighborhood very peaceful. We spent a couple days exploring the area and weren’t there much, but that’s probably a good thing because there is only 1 comfortable place to sit. The futon is quite low and might be great for sleeping on, but not for sitting. Otherwise, we enjoyed this cozy spot and would happily return!

We loved our stay. Very peaceful, relaxing, and tropical. Quick walk to the black sand beach to watch surfers and the sunset. Easy check in process. It’s a short few minutes drive into downtown Hilo. Would definitely recommend!

It was a wonderful property just a very short drive from Hilo. The view from the observation tower was stunning and I don't think I've ever seen so many stars as I was able to view from up there! The property has everything we needed and would stay here again.

This was my first time to Big Island. I did not know about the coqui frog invasion. They are loud. Recommend ear plugs.

The black sand beach Honoli’i Paka is a short walk out the property’s back gate and down the street. Obvious favorite with the local surfers. This is a great space for those who surf or love to watch. We enjoyed using the property’s crows nest, wonderful breezes and great views. The room itself does not have a view (unless you count the lovely green yard) Loved the cats! The coqui frogs are loud but such a unique experience. The fragrance of the property is so pleasant. Occasionally you can hear traffic from the 19. We were able to use the home’s laundry, which we fully appreciated!

I find this place hard to review because it was my favorite place we stayed on the big island. With a great surf break right out the back gate and a short distance to Hilo.
I would give this a zero star rating so i could book this place any time, but that would be unfair to the host and selfish of me. I would highly recommend a stay here.
Note: when leaving to go into Hilo we found it easier to turn right and and head up to the next intersection and turn left and turnaround than get back on the highway heading to Hilo. Traffic is sometimes heavy on the main highway.

This is a great location with good access to Honoli'i Beach. It is a good place to stay if you plan on visiting the waterfalls near Hilo.

Marie and Greg were the best hosts! They really made us feel at home, more like family. Great studio apartment in a great location. Amazing sunrises! Very close to the beach, got to see a bunch of surfers. By far the best place we’ve stayed at on the big island😎

We have found our home away from home in Hilo. The unit is very clean with a rustic, cabin like atmosphere. The location was great for accessing the heart of Hilo and we could watch some great surfing action from the tower or walk down to the beach in a couple minutes. Our hosts, Marie and Greg were friendly and helpful and their cats were a lot of fun. We’ll definitely stay here again next time we visit Hilo.

Very clean. Host super friendly, view from overs action deck was amazing. Sat up there for two hours drinking coffee and watching the sunrise. The yard is beautiful and smells heavenly.

We enjoyed staying here a lot. 10/10 would stay here again. The owners were very nice and the property was beautiful.We enjoyed watching the 30-50 surfers from the lookout tower in the backyard each day. If you're looking to surf on your vacation, this rental is located right next to the Honoli'i Beach Park (surf beach) with easy access from the property's backyard gate.

If you are a surfer there is a really amazing surf beach 100 m away, we found the waves too high but watched the best surfers I had ever seen, and it was only a Monday, apparently this beach is the best surfing beach on the island. If the waves are too high there is a deep fresh water lagoon right beside the beach.
I loved listening to the noise of nature as I drifted off to sleep at night too it was so peaceful. The place is very clean, they even have an alarm you can put on when you leave the unit through the day. The look out tower is great to, we would go up and have a couple of quiet drinks.
Nice restaurants too in HiLo to drive 5 mins away to. Our favourite was Jackie Rays, a classy restaurant in a converted bank building, I ordered the Seafood Trio beautifully cooked and the prettiest and most colourful meal I have had I think ever and I have been to many countries. I won't say how though and wreck the surprise for you.

Perfect place to stay while we explored the Hilo area. We loved the frogs singing every night and the cats greeted us every morning as we walked outside.
The views from the view deck are amazing. It was functional and clean. Parking the best! My only complaint was that we didn't stay longer. Thanks for letting us stay!

Wonderful location outside of Hilo for a relaxing atmosphere; one block from black sands beach. We had a wonderful hosts! We enjoyed all that the Big Island had to offer from beaches, to waterfalls & local eats. Thank you!
