I really liked the decorations and overall aesthetic. I also loved the staff, they were extremely helpful and kind.

The location is excellent. I took TriMet train from PDX airport to China Town and it was only hotel was only two or three blocks from thst stop. Then the next day, I took Amtrak to Olympia. Amtrak station was walkable, maybe five or six blocks?
Good restaurants nearby. Powells Books is walkable.
I slept well in my curtained bed in dorm. My son was nearby and liked his bed too

Very clean, very comfortable and intelligently designed
The surrounding area of Portland was surprisingly smelly and dirty. The hotel at South, however was fantastic.
