We only spent one night in the cabin but we all wished it was more. Extremely clean and exactly as described. We will definitely be returning for a longer stay and also to enjoy the grounds.

Beautiful property with everything that you could want to do-hiking, petting zoo, Creek, canoeing, paddle boarding, swinging, fishing, picnics, fire pits, cookouts, s’mores, outdoor movies, and more! An outdoor lovers dream! So serene and peaceful. Friendliest people you’ll ever meet too!

I surprised my boys, ages 7 & 9, with a weekend at Candlelight Forrest. We could not have enjoyed our stay more. Staying in Sophie’s Roost for two nights was just the sweetest experience. It truly felt like a luxury treehouse, and I enjoyed it as much as my boys. They loved the entire property and enjoyed each activity, from the scavenger hunt and fishing to canoeing and playing in the stream. It was definitely a boy’s dream weekend!

This is the perfect little place to stay if you like the idea of camping but you don't like camping! :) My family and I have stayed here 2 years in a row and it is now our place to go if we want to experience the camping-life but still have heat and A/C. :) Our kids love to run around the property; canoeing, feeding the goats, and playing at the treehouse. It is a great place to go and relax and have some fun family time!

My husband and I stayed with three teens. We all had a fabulous time. The treehouse is adorable and has everything you need! The entire property is beautiful, and there’s lots to do. The owners are great and very accommodating. Several restaurants nearby. Hope to come back soon!!

Would recommend to anyone looking for something different. Keep in mind it’s a short walk through woods from car parking and no TV. So pack lightly and relax. This is a place to stay for the experience.
For us it was the perfect place to spend a night while visiting Chattanooga with our kids. They probably enjoyed the treehouse as much as anything else. They loved the idea of sleeping in a treehouse and the bunks upstairs gave them a secret hideout.
The layout is small but well thought out to make the most efficient use of space and decor was very nicely done. Unlimited hot water is a plus.

Loved the accommodations and the property! What a find near Chattanooga! High quality finishes and decor. Loved the outdoor kitchen. While cooking outdoors may have taken longer than usual, the experience was fun for all and it was well appointed with cooking gadgets and tableware. Kids also loved all the outdoor activities from the treehouse to the games to the canoe. Will recommend to others!

We truly did things together like skipping rocks, hiking, climbing trees. . . things kids should do! And then in the treehouse we played cards and board games. We were able to cook breakfast in the outdoor kitchen and eat sandwiches for lunch. We drove into Chattanooga (straight shot, easy drive ab 12 miles) to eat dinner. The beds are comfortable and the treehouse is so cozy. We can't wait to return!!

Wonderful Stay
We really enjoyed our stay in the treehouse! Our little ones loved the loft and the time we spent exploring outside. Be sure to visit the play treehouse, rope swing, and lake nearby! It was also an easy drive into Chattanooga, where we spent a lot of our time. It truly was a great place to stay, with the privacy and unique experience we were looking for! We hope to go back.

Quiet, Peaceful, Tranquil
Sophie's Roost was perfect for our mother/daughter weekend. We were in the area for the Veterns Day Marathon in Chickamauga Battlefield. Perfect location! Chattanooga just 20 minutes away, so after coming 'home' to change after the race, we went to town. Coming back 'home' was so wonderful. Walking under the fairy lights, enjoying the cheese, crackers and wine that were there and snuggling into our nest to read for the evening. So peaceful. No TV for temptation which is wonderful. I enjoyed cooking breakfast on the outdoor grill on Sunday morning and cleaning the dishes in the outdoor sink. There is just something about it. Getting back to my old camping days, but definitely a bit more luxurious!
We have decided this may be an annual event. Girls only! Boys not allowed!
