I could not imagine having a better stay in Paia. The location is walking distance to shops, restaurants, yoga, and the beach. The home itself felt like a true home away from home and there were so many small details that made the stay wonderful. The outdoor shower, lanai area, beach supplies, and well-appointed kitchen were some of our favorites.

This is probably the most immaculate, well stocked, and thoughtfully crafted VRBO we have ever stayed (Hawai'i and beyond)! James is a wonderful host and genuinely wants his guests to have a 5 star experience. The one minor question we had for him was resolved immediately and he responded quickly throughout the booking process. This home has everything you will need if you like to cook, hang out at the beach (chairs, linens, snorkel gear, boogie boards, coolers, ect), or relax on the patio. There wasn't a speck of dust when we checked in and everything was professionally cleaned. We always expect some bugs when we stay in Hawai'i (just the nature of the area), but there were NONE here! The location is easy walking distance of downtown shops/restaurants and local beaches...it's in the heart of everything. We'll absolutely try to book again next time we are in Maui!

Luna House a perfect location for a Maui vacation
This is our first visit to Maui and we wanted to stay at a location away from the large resort areas. Paia is a wonderful small town on the north coast. Luna House, owned by Jim Huntington, is a comfortable, well-appointed cottage just a block from the main intersection in Paia. It’s easy walking to terrific restaurants, funky boutiques, and a beach. Jim is an excellent & friendly host. Everything we needed was available at Luna House. We would definitely return here.

Great stay in Paia
Location of house is within walking distance of beaches, restaurants, many shops and a short drive to beautiful countryside. Well cared for home with well equipped kitchen. Enjoyed the outside shower and patio area with water feature and beautiful plants and trees. Our family of four was very comfortable and enjoyed our two week stay very much. Jim is a great host. Highly recommended rental.

My 8 yo daughter and I loved staying in Paia at Jim's amazing oasis. We both felt so comfortable and happy there. The outdoor shower and getting a shaved ice from across the street were my daughter's fave daily activities. I loved walking down to the private turtle beach and having so many magical moments there. I could go on and on about how wonderful and lucky we felt that we got to stay at Jim's vrbo location. Thank you so much Jim!!!

Best Part of Our Maui Trip!
My 8 yo daughter and I loved staying in Paia at Jim's amazing oasis. We both felt so comfortable and happy there. The outdoor shower and getting a shaved ice from across the street were my daughter's fave daily activities. I loved walking down to the private turtle beach and having so many magical moments there. I could go on and on about how wonderful and lucky we felt that we got to stay at Jim's vrbo location. Thank you so much Jim!!!
Paia is a beautiful town and it's perfectly located so it is easy to enjoy the island fully.

This is our 3rd visit to Maui and this is the best VRBO we’ve had. The house is well taken care of and had everything we needed. Jim welcomed us when we arrived and graciously let us stay longer on check out day to accommodate our late departure. We would definitely consider this property again!

Jim was amazing and so eager to make sure all our needs were met. The plantation style house had all the amenities you could ever want and MORE! The house is located a short walk away from the center of Paia which was very nice. If we ever return to Paia again, the Luna House is where we will stay.

James is the best host I’ve ever had the pleasure of renting from, and I have stayed at PLENTY of rental properties on various vacations. If all you want to do is sit on 1 beach and have overpriced drinks delivered to you, this is not the place for you. This is for those of you who want to have adventures, explore and get some privacy too!
Paia is a great little town and you can walk to multiple shops, coffee, restaurants all within 5 mins of your front door. I recommend the car to go to the beach (never had a problem finding parking), but that is just a 5 minute drive away. You'll want the car to carry all the toys, towels and umbrellas (the house is well stocked with gear!). Just down the road is a nice beach with plenty of snorkeling and turtles, if you walk over to Secret Beach, look along the sea wall as we saw about 200!!! turtles swimming and eating.
During our stay (one of many to Maui) we hit up just about every part of the island from Hana to Lahaina to Wailuku to Wailea. Lots of beaches and plenty of fresh fish and fruit to prepare your own meals in your own kitchen (or just order take out or dine in!).
Very well equipped house, great host (Jim), nice neighbors and an awesome location. I would definitely stay here again!

AMAZING!!! I would stay forever if I could
This was the best property we've ever stayed at on any of our travels!!! The Luna House was absolutely lovely - clean, relaxing, and well stocked. A bunch of beach equipment and kitchen items were made available to us, and the property manager Jim was an absolute joy to meet! The home has a lovely porch setting in the front, and a huge beautiful kitchen. The walkability of the neighborhood is incredible, lots of great restaurants and shops around, live music some nights at the club nearby, a health food store, a great beach just minutes away! Paia is in a perfect location, only a short 15 minutes from the airport. Truly, we wish we never had to leave! Mahalo nui loa Jim, we hope to be back very soon!!!

Lovely getaway!
The Luna house is set up perfectly with all the accommodations you need for a relaxing stay. We loved the access to the beach equipment! Loved the bohemian vibes and all the extra attention to details ! We hope to be back again someday . Thanks again Jim!

Excellent location comes with some town noise
The location is excellent in terms of walking distance to town, restaurants and the beach. The house is very clean and well appointed; the host is excellent. There is a restaurant bar across the alley that played live music till midnight 4 out of the 8 nights we stayed there requiring the use of the AC unit to drown out the noise. There are also chickens in the rear yard that wake up early but this seems to be a thing everywhere on Maui.

Thoughtful Details
James met us on our arrival and was very welcoming and explained everything in detail. Very nice guy. He's done such a great job and remodeling his place and making it everything you could want in a vacation home. Loved how it was so close to restaurants, the beach and major Maui sights. I highly recommend it!

If you want a real Hawaiian experience in a very Hawaiian town, you must pick the Luna House. The house was beautiful and James was the best host we have ever had. His attention to detail is second to none. You will not be disappointed.
