The location of the this home and the communication from the owners was super - they seem to be very nice people and even left us a few goodies in the kitchen. The home was also well stocked. However the things that bothered my group about this property left us with an unpleasant overall experience. When we first arrived it was quite a challenge to get the door open - had to fumble with a key box and door is difficult to figure out. Then we were greeted by a "weird" smell which we later determined was a musty odor. It seems that the home had been closed up for a while and all of the linens/bedding/furniture and pillows (including extra linens) smelled musty. We tried to use lysol, febreeze, remake the beds, etc to make it better but nothing worked. Additionally, the 3 extra TVs that were advertised to be in each bedroom were not there (listing has since been modified). The owner offered/provided 1 TV but we could not get it to work because there was no remote provided to which they replied that we should use the buttons on the side to turn in on - we are not novices at electronics but eventually just gave up. The owners reply to why there were not additional TVs was because they had to close up the home for Covid. Perhaps this is the reason for the musty smell as well. Not sure what TVs have to do with Covid and while it may not be important to others, we are huge sports fans and like to watch the news at night and 1 TV for 4 adults did not work for us. Lastly, trying to figure out what and how to properly sort/recycle/compost the trash was confusing as the rules are quite different from where we live - we did bag everything up upon leaving but did not sort the trash. We recommend that the owners do a cleaning/sanitizing overhaul of furniture and linens.

The check in was a breeze, and the home had all the amenities and then some! There’s so much to see and do in SF but this house is so cozy, you might want to stay in instead! We can’t wait to come back again.

Everything was smooth and easy

My family and I (six adults) travelled to San Francisco to celebrate the birthday of my 25 year old son. Even before we arrived, Rose was corresponding with me about what we might like to do during our stay and making great suggestions. Once we arrived, she was able to recommend great restaurants and the best, and quickest, way to get to anywhere we wanted to go. The house was truly perfect. It is a beautiful home and tastefully decorated. It was extremely clean and had everything you could imagine to make us comfortable. It was as if our hosts had thought of everything. The kitchen was fully equipped, and there was even a closet with board games for evenings after adventures. Each and every one of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely do it again!

This beautiful location is kept in excellent manner and the hosts are responsive and wonderful.

Rose and Richard are wonderful host at the beautiful property. This is our second stay at the house and the accommodations did not disappoint a second time. SF was clear enough to enjoy a peak at the ocean from the front porch, the weather was beautiful. The hone is large and has an open floor plan with large windows bringing in a ton of natural light. The is a back patio to enjoy the outdoors. The neighborhood is safe, quiet, and there is parking in front of the house. We enjoyed evening walks. I highly recommend this property.

Rich and Rose were incredibly quick to respond to anything we needed- the house is in a really fun safe neighborhood! Our group of 5 on a girls trip had an incredible time in San Francisco and the accommodations were a big part of that!!

We stayed at this cute little house for 2 nights for a girls weekend. It's located in a beautiful neighborhood that felt very safe. Parking was super convenient in front of the house and the house was sunny and clean. We enjoyed the weekend very much!

This is one of the best places we’ve ever stayed. I really can’t think of anything to criticize. The house is beautiful, well kept up, in a great location, and comes with no-worry parking. It was exactly as advertised, communication was great, and the owners were super helpful. We’re looking forward to staying there again!

We loved our six day stay in Rich and Rose's darling home. The location was absolutely perfect for us as we were celebrating our daughter's graduation from SFState. There are beautiful neighborhoods to walk through (St Francis Wood) on your way to West Portal shops and restaurants. Everything has been thought of in this VRBO, including labels in the kitchen and on light switches! Exploring through the home was a treasure hunt of surprises where we found many similarities to our own family life. Very cozy respite in a very busy big city! Thank you Rich and Rose for offering your home for us to enjoy for a week of family memories!

We had a great time in Richards house in the city. The place was clean and well equipped. The location was good- easy to get to the beach, the marina area and anywhere we wanted to go. Plenty of street parking too. Would definitely stay again. Our dog enjoyed being with us too!

The check-in process was very easy and the home was available the morning we arrived! Scenic hillside location, with easy access by 20 minute walk or less 5 minute car ride to a convenient row of shops and restaurants. Quiet central location, from which to make day trips to anywhere in the Bay area region. Well-stocked kitchen and comfortable furnishings. Would definitely stay again or recommend to friends for upcoming visits.

Our family of four loved our visit to San Francisco Richard and Rose were great hosts , easy check in , quick to respond to any questions , and provided great recommendations. Our family was very comfortable, was great to come back after a long day of sightseeing , loved the view from the front living room window and sunsets were amazing . Rose & Richard we’re helpful, warm, and accommodating. We felt at home in their place... they had everything we could need for the kitchen and more. And the place is just lovely. Gorgeously decorated and a beautiful view. Conveniently close to groceries and BART, but quiet neighborhood. We would definitely recommend a stay here. Mahalo Rose & Richard!

After being in various hotels for the previous 7 days/nights, our family of 4 was very much ready to have our own space, and West of Twin Peaks delivered just what we needed. The house is beautiful and located on a very nice street. Parking is super easy. Owners, Rich and Rose, were very helpful and very welcoming. I misread the listing initially and did not realize that we would be 30 minutes from downtown SF, but it really did not hamper our getting around. The first 2 days we used Lyft, but then started driving ourselves. Parking can be expensive, so we used Parking Panda and found ample parking for under $15. There are plenty of shopping amenities nearby. The neighborhood is great for getting out and walking around. We loved everything about the house. Even though we all had our own space to go to, we spent a few nights together in the living room watching TV. The living room is situated so even if you don't want to watch TV, you can still be with the family on another couch or chair. The only thing that would make this better would have been a washer/dryer, but that is a negligible inconvenience. There are plenty of laundry options nearby. I would definitely stay at West of Twin Peaks again on another trip to SF.

My daughters and I enjoyed our stay. It was nice getting away from the city at night and relaxing here. Very clean and kitchen was well stocked! Would definitely stay here again. It is about a $20 Uber drive to most tourist attractions.

Five us stayed for a girls trip. Rose was a great host. Answered all our questions and returned every text. . The house is lovely--- plenty of room , week stocked kitchen and close to transportation.

We had a wonderful time in San Francisco - visited w/my two teenage children to show them the city that we used to live in. Home was very comfortable with tons of space to spread out. Location was fantastic and everyone had plenty of space to spread out. Thank you for having us Richard & Rose.
