We had booked for skiing but there was little snow on the mountain so we just enjoyed Courtenay. The location was great. At first I was a bit worried about only 1 TV and 2 teenagers but we ended up snuggled up watching movies and Sienfeld reruns. A great family getaway. Thanks so much!

We hosted a family Christmas and it couldn't have felt more like home. Host decorated the house and yard, including a Christmas tree. The family felt warm and welcome. We would stay here again and definitely recommend it.

This is a lovely cottage in a wonderful, peaceful location. The property is beautifully and lovingly maintained, the cottage is full of light and warmth, and the deck invites you to sit for hours watching the river. We enjoyed tubing and kayaking, and the fresh peaches from the peach tree. We loved it.

Access to the puntledge and downtown Courtenay are unmatched with this house. We were on the river every day. A short walk to downtown made getting morning coffee or an evening out a breeze. When not doing that, the house had everything we needed for meals at home. Jacqueline was great for communication the whole time. We can't wait to go back!

We had high expectations about this stay and it exceeded it. The home was perfect the way it was and accommodated our family of 5. We all loved the river front deck, playing in the water, kayaking, closeness to town, and the July 1st festivities. Thank you to the Hosts.

Lovely, clean, and quiet property with great view of the river. Comfortable beds. Convenient to town with grocery stores and great restaurants. We enjoyed being able to water the perennials every morning! There was a musty smell when we arrived that the host explained could be because the house had been closed up for the week before, however the smell never went away. Nevertheless, we would stay here again when visiting Courtenay.

This was not just a beautiful house with tons of character, it felt like home. The bungalow style was perfect for us and my parents. Communication with our host was exceptional. We would definitely come back if our in the area again.

This home was peacful with a gorgeous yard and beutiful view of the river. It is close to town and communication with host was great. We thoroughly enjoyed the bikes and kayaks. It is the perfect home to get together with family. We will be back.

Bright and cheery....loads of windows to allow for natural light. So nice to look out at the river and enjoy the sound of the birds. Everything was so nice and clean and it was evident the owners took a great deal of pride in this property. Close to town, so a very easy walk. We loved being able to jump on our bikes and cycle on the One Spot trail as well as lots of other roads. Great location. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Very lovely and warm cottage. Safe backyard for dogs with a grand view over the river. Walking distance to pubs and restaurants. Light switches and appliances are clearly labelled. For a visit to Comox valley, there could be no better place!

Jacqueline‘a place is well appointed and each detail accounted for. The place is well kept and has nice luxury accommodation details while being unpretentious and relaxing. Really beautiful living area and up to date kitchen. It was so pleasant to sit in a beautiful living room filled with natural light and look out over the river to see herons, eagles, ducks and even an otter from the comfort of home. Thanks for a great stay.

As always, this property was amazing. We arrived Christmas Eve and left New Years Day. Everything was perfect and it would be very hard to even imagine better accommodation. This was our third Christmas at the cottage and we’ve already booked next year.

My kids and I spent four nights while we skied at Mount Washington. This home was so comfortable and we immediately felt at home. It’s perfectly equipped to be the perfect base camp for a skiing getaway. Fully equipped and cozy, we’ve rebooked
for next month too. Jacqueline is an excellent host. Our check in was easy and she was super responsive to queries. The location is pretty hard to beat too. Don’t stay on the mountain. This place is walking distance to groceries, restaurants and great shopping. 5 stars in all categories.

Due to flights and snowstorms on Vancouver Island we never made it to Courtney for our scheduled holiday a few weeks ago!
Jacqueline completely understood and took care of our booking better than we could have imagined. She is a host that should be acknowledged for going above and beyond accommodating unforeseen circumstances!
This would have been our 2nd stay!

This property has something for all ages. Plenty of activities around the Courtenay and Puntledge rivers, and close to the centre of the city. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4th stay at this property.

We had a wonderful week long stay.
We probably could have spent the whole time between the kitchen, the deck, and the river but we also walked to town and drove to nearby hikes, water attractions and restaurants.
This is a beautiful and comfortable place to stay. Everything you need from groceries to pottery within reach. Would definitely return.

This is a beautiful home, well equipped with everything you need, right in the heart of Courtenay. It is right on the river - a wonderful sanctuary to watch wildlife and enjoy a relaxing stay. We like it so much here that we have stayed multiple times. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need to make family meals, there is nothing lacking! It really is a home away from home.

The property is excellent. Larger than it appears in the photos, clean and with everything you could need. Location is great for the town of Courtenay and using the river for tubing and kayaking.

We loved this place. It was clean, and the hostess made sure we had everything we may need. It was the perfect size to host other family members for dinner . The location is excellent.
The kitchen was fully equipped and clean. The hostess provided beach towels, life jackets, outdoor toys for kids and even provided a little sewing kit.
We hope to return!

This beautiful home is located close to downtown and right on the river. The place was immaculate yet had a homey feel to it. The owners were quick to communicate and clearly wanted us to feel welcome and enjoy our stay…which we did!

The River House is a very clean, well stocked and comfortable place to stay. We were three generations and all enjoyed the stay. We walked for coffee in the am and along the river pathway in the the afternoon. We highly recommend Atlas restaurant (a 8 min walk) for dinner.

The cabin was the perfect space to have our mother daughter weekend. It was immaculate, easy to access and just a short walk into town. The hosts obviously take pride in the property and it shows.

This stay in such a nice house was unbelievable. The host is so easy to communicate and a beautiful fully stocked kitchen was a pleasant surprise. The 2 sitting areas were great as we had a group. Please remember to bring a key, my fault I did not read and the host changed the lock code so we could get in. She had little things furnished like the make up towels. The toilet paper was a step above the normal Rental. She had shampoo and body wash provided. The weather wasn’t great but we managed a walk to the water. Love her hammock too. This was such a cozy house I could have stayed way longer than we had rented. Again I must say the host is amazing.

Courtenay River Cottage is by far the most comfortable, clean and well-stocked place we've ever stayed. The uniqueness of the property and the peaceful setting full of wildlife are uncomparable. It's within walking distance to downtown shopping and restaurants as well as numerous interesting hiking trails. If you golf, the courses are all welcoming and friendly. The hosts are pros at what they do to provide their guests with a comfortable stay...always available with help and advice. We will not hesitate to rent CRC again same time next year.

Amazing property. Loved the layout, the decor, the amenities. Honestly one of the nicest VRBOs we have stayed at and we’ve been all over North America. Great hostess too. Thank you so much! We’ll be back!
