Nice location on Lake Huron. It is an interesting old building. The room had a blue jay theme.
Upon arrival, the door to our room would not latch or lock. The host said it would be OK because the outside doors lock. I didn't feel entirely comfortable with this. The bed in the Blue Jay room was quite hard and uncomfortable. The sink was ridiculously small, making it difficult to use without getting water on the floor. There was also no lighting over the sink--just bare wires. A larger sink was in the shower room, but it wasn't hooked up yet. The shower had a padded mat on the floor, which seemed odd. The ceiling fan (no air conditioning) made an annoying ticking noise on its lower setting. We could easily hear the guests talking in the room next door. Overall, it was an unpleasant place to stay, and we left a day early so we could get home and get a good night's sleep. The breakfast was good, though.

The breakfasts were different from what we usually have but very good.
We weren’t sure why we were scheduled to stay in that very small room in the first place but relieved when we were moved to the nicer bigger room.

The breakfast was awesome--thanks Candy! The location was great with the beach right there and a path/trail. The room was very comfortable and we look forward to staying again sometime. Thanks Cindy for being such a gracious host!

Great staff! They made us feel welcome and part of the family. You had a chance to socialize with all the other guests if you desire.
Rooms very small and not insulated. You can hear everything from the room next to you.

The location is unbeatable! Great place to enjoy Lake Huron, the beach and surrounding trails.
The place is so cool and charming, highly due to the great hosts!

The location was perfect and the people were great, bed very comfortable. The room was VERY small for two people though. and we had to get on the road so the 9am breakfast was too late for us.
I covered that.

Bonnie gave us a delicious homemade breakfast that was different each morning. It was plated beautifully too. The kitchen eating area was clean and homey. All guests eat together so you all get to know one another. Great family feel and atmosphere.
The Inn used to be a old Laundry mat. The creativity of the layout was amazing and Cindy has a great flare for decorating...but our room was a little tight. Everything is in one room with lots of hooks to hang your clothes, but there is no closet or set of drawers. They make great use of the space and the bed was very comfortable.

Private Beach, Cheap ice-cream in the city, good restaurant some feets away
We were heading north and just wanted to stay in the hotel and spend a few hours on the beach. The beach is ok. Nothing is going on in the city. The staff doesn't really care about COVID-19. No masks are put on. The room is full of some old things. The beds are catastrophic. (Wobbly / squeaks) The two of us had to sleep in a 90cm wide bed. In the other it was itching on my legs after 5 minutes. There was a suitcase under the bed - that's very strange. If you like horror pictures (on the wall above the bed) and opiom sticks - you will feel comfortable. The ceiling of the bathroom is cobbled together and it was not really cleaned properly (comb was under the bed). There is no fridge and TV in the room. Breakfast is free but is only served from 9-10 a.m. - we were already gone.
