very nice hotel, nice and helpful staff, confortable bed, exceptionally clean facilities, very central location, excellent breakfast

Shower area doesnt have enclosure, which meant that some water reached the bathroom floor. This may be a common setup in Latvia, but a better splash guard or enclosure could help keep the bathroom drier. It would also be helpful to have more control over the room temperature, as we found the room a little cool at night.

We had a wonderful stay and really enjoyed this hotel. The location is excellent, right next to the train station, with a bus stop directly in front of the hotel. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive and welcoming. We stayed in a lovely family room under the roof, which was very comfortable and beautifully maintained. The room was cleaned every day, and we appreciated the complimentary water as well as the coffee and tea. The bathroom amenities were also a lovely touch, with high-quality shower gel, shampoo, bath salts and more. Our son celebrated his birthday during our stay, and the hotel surprised him with a bottle of sparkling wine and a beautiful box of chocolates – such a thoughtful gesture! The breakfast was excellent as well. All in all, it was a truly wonderful stay for us. We felt very comfortable and well looked after, and we would definitely choose this hotel again if we return to Riga.

The location was very handy - easy to get to the Old Town but slightly separate. That meant you were also easy to do the few things there are to see on that side of the city (which has a slightly different feel) The room was extremely lovely, the staff attentive (flawless English) and the fact there is a cute sized bar there meant that it felt easy and relaxing to finish your day at the place In a new city where you don't have the language the hotel felt like a safe, welcoming and calm and relaxed harbour (if ever you felt you like you want where you are staying to feel like that) ps SO many lighting settings in the room, an excellent touch!

I found the local water didn't agree with me - no criticism of the place. It is admirable that they kept restocking there to be 2 unopened new bottles of still water in your room 🙂

Staff were friendly and helpful. Cynthia was excellent. She solved some of our problems and was super friendly and gave good advice on what to see in Riga. Room was big and spacious and very good location opposite the shopping centre and nearby the river, gardens and old town. Breakfast was good and menu changed. Nice gesture to have lemon water at the reception.

1. The bed was unusally high. Have been to many hotels but no bed has been so high - what is the purpose 2. The shower is unusual in that it has no door and the water sprays right into the whole bathroom getting the mat totally wet. I cannot understand the rationale for such a construction. 3. No extension wire at the writing table which makes doing computer work impossible as you cant charge your computer. Cynthia helped us get an extension cord. But shouldnt there always be one? 4. No aircon - stifling heat. Cynthia helped us get a fan. 5. Room is very dark in certain areas - we had to purchase a light at the RIMI supermarket as the room was too dark at places.
