Friendly staff, good evening meal and breakfast, good value.
First impression of the entrance wasn't too good due to the outdoor table area around the entrance not having been cleared or swept very well.

Lovely building in a nice area. Plenty of free parking.
It was a bit quirky. The door to the hotel is not the same as the door to the pub, and it was a challenge to open and close it. Unless it was wide open anyway.
The breakfast room was not in the pub, but separate for residents.
Handy for both train and bus.
Although the building was quite old the room windows were sealed shut. Why is that necessary?
Breakfast is cooked to order, but allow an hour from the time you leave your room to when you get back. That's if the breakfast room is quiet. If it's busy I dread to think how long it takes.
No cask ale in the bar. Do Greene King know?
New TV in the room, which was nice, but not a clue how to work it, but that's not their fault, it's because I'm old.
