Braunbär Hotel & Spa

Beautiful hotel with kind staff that feels like it was recently updated. Comfortable room, great breakfast, and beautiful location.

We stayed 4 nights B&B from 22/9, we arrived early, & were able to put our luggage in a luggage room until our room was ready later in the afternoon. We stayed in a twin room on the 2nd floor overlooking the high street. Don’t let that put you off, because the view behind that was the mountains, the cable car, some cows & a variety of traditional Swiss properties, fields & trees. We couldn’t fault the room or the breakfasts. Everything was immaculate. Also a very comfortable bar plus shaded seating at the front to watch the world go by. We didn’t use any of the spa facilities so can’t comment on them. The hotel is in an alpine village served by a train which links to Lauterbrunnen & onto other destinations. There aren’t any cars in Wengen other than small service vehicles & you can’t drive there, you can only reach the hotel by Wengen station via Lauterbrunnen. Factor in around 15 Swiss francs per adult return from Wengen to Lauterbrunnen, or if you’re staying for more than 5 days get a discount pass. We stayed there for the hiking, it’s very well connected & you will be in awe of the views from the train, worth every single cent for every single journey!!! The village is served by various hotels, restaurants, shops & a co-op. We would highly recommend Braunbar Hotel!

Great location. The hotel bar was excellent with live music some nights. Staff were excellent. Room was clean and modern.

Breakfast was ok

Sauna and steam room were great after a long day of walking. Aperol Spritz’s were some of the best I’ve ever had!

Room was small. Unbelievably expensive for what it was. The balcony was almost as big as the room itself. Poor availability of teas and coffee in the room.
