Reception hall disappointing, which sets the tone for the rest

Amazing staff! Great buffet breakfasts. Adults Only pool area a real bonus for those just wanting to relax poolside. Great poolside service.

The tv in the lounge area was faulty and not fixed during our stay. The plug in the bath leaked and the water went down the drain as fast as it flowed into the bath!

The pool areas were lovely.

The first room we were allocated had a gas hot water heater inside the room which was linked to another room, and it was extremely loud. It also had a leaking toilet. We raised this, and we were moved to another room which was much better. I also thought the entire hotel was a little tired, and the breakfast could be improved, for the amount of money per night. We had a plesant stay, but it was not as amazing as we had hoped.

It felt expensive for what it actually is (this might not be specific to The Hilton; perhaps Fiji has just become far more expensive generally). We were there with family and despite requesting rooms within close proximity, we were not at all close (the resort sprawl a long distance end-to-end). Service was inconsistent and came down to the individual person, rather than an ingrained culture of high quality service, which doesn’t align with the price we pay to be there. They also had quite significant construction happening on site that we’d not been aware of (would have been polite to give guests a heads up). My elderly mum was out in a room adjoining the construction, so was woken early every morning - perhaps couldn’t have been helped, but it wasn’t at all ideal (again, not what you expect for $1,000 per night). We left feeling a bit disappointed.
