Pleasant staff. Ample parking. Very clean. Dog friendly-allocated a ground floor room near access door to gardens for dog and no charge for bringing her.

Brilliant location.
Ducks and rabbits in the car park delighted the kids.
Family room a great size.
Breakfast amazing and staff super friendly.
Nice and quiet.
Easy to walk to shops and fun wildcat statue finding activity in local area with some nice local walks.
Decor is a bit dated and bed not that comfy. Worth it for the price though.

The location - central Newtonmore - is good. The Highlander Hotel building looks very stylish, modern and attractive from the outside.
On the inside, the hotel needs a thorough refurb. The rooms are rather basic and unattractive. They need modernising. If you are unfortunate enough to be allocated a room facing the main road, it is VERY noisy, even with the windows shut. There is no double glazing. The floorboards are extremely creaky; the person in the room above mine appeared to be keen to get his/her 10,000 steps in because the floorboards above my room creaked for much of the night. Hence, sleep eluded me.
