Harbour Hotel Padstow

The hotel has an old-world feel but has been modernised with a curated style that suits the location, beside the sea. The dining room/ Bar is quite luxurious, with nice views over the harbour and bay. It is a bit bright in full daylight but nevertheless a lovely space to dine. Breakfast was included in the price of the room, and it was an adequate Continental Breakfast. A cooked breakfast was available at an extra cost. The bedroom was warm and cosy. The bed was very comfortable, and the ensuite was spacious and spotlessly clean. The staff throughout the stay were courteous, professional and friendly.

I am a bit of a gardener, so I would have liked the lower garden to be designed and maintained. Also some indoor plants would enhance the nice spaces.

Great position, spacious room after we paid for an upgrade. The bed was very comfortable, the food was great and the staff were welcoming and friendly.

The rooms under the eaves on the top floor felt oppressive and hot. The weather was still warm yet very sumptuous duvets meant we experienced hot restless sleeping at night. Insufficient parking for the number of guests.

The staff were lovely, liked the location. Also good to be able to park the car in their car park.

There was a terrible smell of drains in our room. We did tell the staff, but did not get sorted at all. Also the bathroom was often full of tiny flies

The hotel was clean and very nicely decorated. The staff were very helpful and free parking was a real bonus in Padstow. Location is close to the centre but a walk up and down a hill if you are restricted in anyway.

It sells itself as a premium hotel but the experience was different. Our room was very small for the amount we paid. They had shoehorned a bathroom into the space. When we arrived the room was boiling hot as the towel rail was left on at full heat and a table fan was blasting away in the room with all windows closed. Obviously not inspected before our arrival. We are not big drinkers but they promote "complimentary gin and sherry". No sherry and just enough gin to make one drink. Not topped up during our stay. It states breakfast included until you find out you have to pay extra for a cooked breakfast on top of an already premium price. All Continental breakfast elements are squeezed onto the bar which causes congestion at busy time. The continental choice was limited compared to many lower priced and rated hotels we have stayed in. A separate cold and uninviting breakfast room is used for overflow at busy times. Constant comments from breakfast staff that they are understaffed and rushing around with little client contact and care. It feels that everything is extra cost and the little details were missing.
