Friendly staff. Charming room in annex overlooking the Avon, lock and the Severn beyond. View to the Malverns too.
Really appreciated the nightlight in bathroom as that was reached up 4 steps and the room had blackout curtains, good touch.
Location to easy walks in Tewkesbury especially the river path behind hotel.
Lovely to see such an historic building being maintained and enjoyed all the old photos and information notices.
For history buffs the Abbey and battlefield are a short walk.
Small things. Room has sash windows with only one openable and that was not totally safe. They could have benefitted from a clean.
Bed was rather hard for our preference but not something that can be fixed mid stay we understand.
Breakfast was variable, when everything was available it was excellent with fresh pastries and fruit to go with a good cooked selection.

The age of the building, the room was very quirky with beams and uneven floor. We liked the traditional decor. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very clean although there appeared to be no shower curtain which meant the water was splashed all over the floor, so we put towels down. There was also a sign on the wall by the bath to say to leave the shower curtain in thrice the bath?
The whole place could do with an upgrade and freshen up, there was also a stale smell around restaurant and staircase. The restaurant toilet facilities need to be addressed too. They were not clean at all!

The history and location and good breakfast choice, the staff were really friendly.
Parking was a bit limited, we had to find a parking spot nearby and move the car once a space became available.

The overall location is good. Room was comfortable with good facilities, although coffee machine leaked and tv reception poor. During heatwave so good that 2 fans provided.
I booked the hotel online and it wasn't actually the one I thought I'd booked!!
Reception area very poor and lift would have been beneficial, especially as directed up narrow old stairs when main staircase also went to our room.
Stair carpets needed cleaning.
Unfortunately room on main street and very noisy.
