Nothing for the age of the building not bad at all

The atmosphere. The friendly staff. The breakfast was delicious. The bar area was cosy. The building was full of character. The bed was comfortable.

The bathroom in our room reminded us very much of the public toilets that you get in an old typical pub- the decor and the smell (I don’t mean a horrible smell, like a cleaning product smell and an old, cold smell) it was spotlessly clean so I can’t fault it for that it just could do with an update in decor to make it feel more suitable. No hook for the hand towel. No hooks for coats if you hang your 6 pieces of clothing up in the wardrobe.

A historic traditional older hotel in a central position convenient for exploring the area at a competitive price.

The bed was a bit small and the dinner menue rather limited

The restaurant and bar area were very nice although we never ate there but the menu looked very appetising. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean. The location was fabulous too. We got free parking which was a bonus. Thank you to all the staff.

We had a twin room n⁰ 9. The beds were very narrow with big heavy double quits on them. The room was very warm and so we had the windows open. The drone all night from some sort of fan or extractor kept me awake the whole night long. It went on and off, on and off, it would have been better to have stayed on the whole of the night. The floor boards creaked very loudly and part of the floor by the bathroom seemed as if it was about to fall in. But it was only £79 per night and we only stayed the one night. You get what you pay for as the saying goes. I'm sure not every room had the same problems well I'd like to think not anyway. For one night it was adequate. Thank you.
