Sunday Box Hill Burford Bridge Hotel

I liked the property, I liked the staff, the decor was lovely aswell.

Pool was closed but that's because of the time of year. No fault to the hotel.

BRILLIANT HOTEL. Stayed over with work. Views were great, room was great, beds were comfortable. Located next to a national trust park so we had a lovely 5 mile walk.

Very spacious and comfortable room.

Before our trip we were sent a very silly email talking about how “digital savvy” hotel it was, with complicated online check-instructions in which the links were missing. I emailed back and said politely that I would be checking in in the normal way. When we did arrive we were slightly horrified to discover that owing to a licensing issue there was no bar, which we should have been told at the point of booking. After a four drive, a drink at the bar is a fairly essential requirement in a hotel. The breakfast menu was very limited and very poor value. The fact that we hadn’t booked breakfast in advance seemed to be a problem with the member of staff on duty, even though there was only one other couple in the dining room.Similarly got upset when we put the one pot of brown sauce on our table, making us take it back to the servery, only to take it back to the table 30 seconds later when the food arrived. The scrambled egg was obviously done in a microwave. The second day we didn’t bother and went out for breakfast.

Rooms (I booked 2 twin rooms - there were 4 of us in my party) were reasonably spacious. Beds comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Wall between adjoining rooms was not particularly soundproof - could hear conversations and TV next door. Hot water in shower was erratic. Breakfast had to be paid separately - the hotel restaurant apparently has different ownership to the rest of the hotel. Rather pricy for the area and hotel facilities.
