De Vere Tortworth Court

A delightful retreat where my Wife and I spent a couple of nights. The rooms were very comfortable well appointed, clean and tidy. The staff were extremely helpful and where possible tried to cater for your every need. The food in the 1853 restaurant was well presented and delicious, though the menu a little limited in choice. There is the alternative Atrium Bistro bar, which on this occasion we did not use except for a mid morning coffee. The grounds are beautiful, extensive and well maintained. The location is excellent as the hotel is just one junction north of the M4 /M5 interchange.

If you have a mobility problem, make sure to mention this when you book. I failed to do this and our room was some considerable distance from the reception and dining areas, through winding corridors. This made it a little uncomfortable for my Wife.

How grand and gorgeous the building was set in amazing surroundings

The room was far too hot, there was a fan provided but quilt was too thick too as the weather had been glorious.

The reception and grounds are very grand and well presented. Staff for nice and polite.

The pool was basic, more like a caravan park swimming pool than spa. The sauna and steam room are small and right outside the female changing rooms which made my wife little uncomfotable with groups standing outside a door that was opening and closing. The sink in our room was blocked and the shower wasnt sealed properly so water flooded the bathroom when on. Also the window levers were loose so a lot of sound and wind came through into thr room. Rooms are a good size but quite basic for the price IMO
