Applewood Hotel was very clean, comfortable beds with a fare sized room for our family of 4, added bonus of free parking on the property.The staff were very welcoming and friendly. I would definitely stay there again and would definitely recommend it to others.
There was nothing to complain about our stay.

Lovely hotel, clean and fresh. Very reasonably priced. Stayed in a basic room and it was as expected. Lovely friendly welcoming owners. Perfect eggs for breakfast.! If ever we venture that way again we would definately stay at Applewood hotel :))

First two nights were very quiet, no voices late at night or banging doors.
Very clean, WiFi good. Staff friendly, downstairs decor in entrance looked very inviting.
Unusually I booked a single room this trip. The photo of the room on booking.com wasn’t the same - no chair in the corner just an uncomfortable stool. Both pillows lumpy and hard. The bed was a small single so not easy to get comfortable in.
The bathroom was painfully small. I am 5’5” and petite but I could not wash my face in the sink because it was tiny and the glass shelf above it hit me in the head. Not easy to brush teeth either. Shower stall very small, I still have a bruise on my head from very painfully banging it on the soap dish when bending down to pick up my toiletries as nowhere else to put them. Cold water tap ran hot, had to fiddle with it and let it run for 5+ minutes to get cool drinking water. Water pressure in the shower very weak unless you want a scorching hot shower. Seems to be an issue with cold water in the room.

It was close to the town centre and the beach.
If possible have someone at reception at all times. After checking out we left our bags with at the hotel with the plan of picking them up a few hours later ahead of our train home. When we returned to the hotel there was no one at reception therefore we got anxious that we may miss our train home. Fortunately I caught the attention of another guest staying at the hotel who kindly opened the reception door for us so that we could collect our bags.

The room was spacious and had a large comfy bed.
Lovely modern decoration.
Tea and coffee facilities
Small table and chairs by the big windows which was nice to sit and drink my coffee in the morning.
Bathroom was clean and shower was powerful.
Plenty of towels
Only met one member of staff (check in) but she was lovely and friendly.
Free parking
I would have preferred to have smaller personal bottles of shampoo etc rather than large ones on the wall.
Also, the table was peeling away a little so needs replacing or repainting.

Great location. Single room upgraded to a very comfortable double. Large medium firm bed with clean linen provided a good nights sleep. Ambient temperature controllable and duvet light but warm. Usual tea/coffee facilities and plenty of electrical sockets. Spacious ensuite, powerful shower and plenty of hot water but no heating in bathroom. Staff friendly and helpful. Parking on hotel grounds and convenient location for both Bournemouth and Poole. Very good value two night deal.
The bathroom had no heating and was always cold. There was no shaver socket. Breakfast very limited and the pre-order system didn't work very well.

This property was lovely and clean. Bright and refreshing well decorated I instantly felt comfortable.
My room again was very well presented and clean.

The location was great!
Stairs and landing creaked a lot. No lift facilities for anyone with a large suitcase. The room was very cold with the curtains visibly being blown by the wind. Heater didn’t work, when I complained the receptionist looked at the smart meter. It was obvious that they were more interested in keeping the bills down, nothing was done. Single bed in a tiny room with toilet/shower facilities across the hallway. Key to toilet was difficult to open, so you stood there a while trying to open the door, while incoming guests looked at you.
It was very humiliating.

Having a family room on the top floor with no lift was a bit of an issue...travelling with 2 kids means extra luggage :(

It was clean, friendly, good breakfast( extra cost), reasonably close to beach and centre.
Size of double room and bathroom at £140 per night (no breakfast) was very poor. Only about 15 inches wider than bed.

The hotel is close to town center, the beach and many nice restaurants. The staff, from the receptionist to the cleaners, are all really nice and friendly. We realised upon arrival that our bathroom sink was completely blocked and it was unclogged within 10 min. Asked for the iron and clean towels which were brought promptly. There are several parking spots and the wee garden in the back is lovely. WiFi is provided and check in and check out was easy and smooth.
Perhaps it was the room we were in but it really needs TLC. The walls were had marks, bed was hard, pillows thin and furniture was old and felt dirty. The drawer handles were sticky and we had to clean everything with Dettol wipes. There are no closets in the room and the wee shelf on the wall had paint peeling off. The worst part was the bathroom sink that was the size of an airplane sink - very uncomfortable for family use. It is so tiny that the glass shelf above it covers half the sink which means you can’t wash your face or brush your teeth without wetting your feet and the bathroom floor. Our windows opened into the street so it’s noisy if you open them and hot if you don’t. a small table fan is provided, though. White bedroom light is depressing. There is no lift so please note if you can’t climb stairs.

Had a fab time, small double room was absolutely perfect for a short break, the bed was so unbelievably comfortable too! Also when I arrived it was crazy weather, heavy wind and rain.... The heating was on in my room and it was toasty warm on arrival!

Our room was more fitting for a single bed than a double. Room walls need painting… older furnishings. Stark interior.
