Applewood Hotel

Lovely family run hotel in a good location close enough to be able to walk into the town centre. Free parking.

Shower not very powerful in one of the rooms.

We stayed in a superior double room. The room itself was clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is close to some very good restaurants for breakfast and supper as well as the city center and the beaches.

Some minor issues such as the garbage from previous travelers not being emptied, one light not working in the bedroom and the water in the shower being too hot. The issue of the garbage was resolved promptly and we believe that both the water heat and the lightbulb would've been resolved rapidly as well.

Absolutely everything

None

We were met by a very friendly host, who gave us lots of useful information about the local area and made us feel very welcome. We were only a short.walk into town and all amenities. Room was pretty cheap.

Housekeeping and maintenece seemed to be lacking. Ring stain on bedside table, quite a lot of dust around the room, hair stuck to the shower wall, bathroom door handle cracked, TV not working as it used WiFi that kept dropping out, generally poor finish to the rooms, didn't like the sign in the rooms asking people to rate a 9 or 10 out of 10 and if not then complain off the site (I understand this totally but it did feel like perhaps it was a regular occurrence if they have to put a sign up...)
