Novotel Reading Centre

The rooms were spacious and the decor was nice. It had all of the small things you expected from a midscale hotel compared to economy hotels. For a night or two, the bed was comfortable enough and the shower was good.

Due to the room facing the main party road in reading, the noise was a problem. I am a light sleeper so it does mean most loud noises wake me through the night. Although this isn't the hotel's issue, if there is a chance to upgrade the windows to block the sound out would be a good start

The pool was lovely. The staff were super helpful and welcoming. My room was really nice and clean

A lot of the lockers in the changing room had broken locks

Always lovely here spa is open till 10pm and it’s right in town centre close to everything but this time the water was off 10pm till 5am for maintenance no discount offered just poured jugs of water which isn’t really good isn’t , guests should been pre warned and discount given . Staff are lovely on reception and helpful only so much they can do thanks

Location was good. Clean and bright entrance. Reception staff was really kind. Clean room and bath room. The room as a whole was really good and spacious. We had everything we wanted. Except for breakfast and the room door tightness we had a good experience. We stay in Reading few times a month and this is the 1st time we booked Novotel. The hotel was a good experience relatively except for the breakfast.

On Tuesday, The Eastern European lady who was wearing white converse shoes, on breakfast duty was mortifying. She acted like no one else is above her. Was not welcoming at all. Food was truely tasteless. Sugar, coffee mugs, tongs, jam, sliced bread, weren't available by 9.30. Breakfast must be available until 10. The whole breakfast experience overall a was disaster. Vegetarian sausages were disgusting. Smelled like sombebody sprayed bleach on it. Sinks were taking forever to drain the water. Bathroom's floor tiles were extremely slipery when it was wet. And also not very spacious bathrooms. Doors are really tight. Multiple room numbers on the doors have damaged. Or missing.
