SureStay Hotel by Best Western The Clarence on Melville

Good size rooms and easy parking

Although on the main road it was quiet. Very comfy. Awesome to have access to a well equipped laundry

We didn’t have the breakfast but the location was excellent and met our needs 10 out of 10

The mattresses badly need upgrading and the Wi-Fi was very poor signal. If at all a signal was there.

The room itself was clean, which we appreciated. Close distance from city centre. Not too noisy. Laundry room available for free.

We stayed here during a power outage, which we understand is not the hotel's fault, but what was disappointing was the absolute absence of communication and service. We tried calling reception multiple times and sent emails to get an update, or to ask for a lamp or extra blankets as it was cold and dark — no one ever answered the phone or replied to our email at all, not even afterwards. On the upside, the room itself was clean, which we appreciated. However the room is in need of an update. The mattress was very saggy, the TV was not working properly, the toilet seat was loose/moving and leaking, the ceiling had mould, and the clothes line snapped the first time we tried to use it. Also only 2 chairs in a triple. It could be a nice stay with some maintenance and most importantly, someone available to help guests when needed. The lack of response when we needed assistance was the worst part.
