Owens Motel

I was able to check in early and the apartment had everything you might need for a short stay in Dunedin, including a heat pump! Only a minutes walk to campus, 10 to the Botanic Gardens, and 15 to the Octagon.

Dining chairs weren't especially comfortable and a spot heater in the bedroom may have been a nice extra.

Value for money

Nothing

It was very clean, comfortable and roomy.

The parking was quite difficult to get in and out of at times.

Helpful and friendly on checkin and during stay. Parking space adequate though could be tight for a larger vehicle.

I had requested a ground floor unit. I received confirmation of this request by email. However, on checkin I was allocated an upstairs unit. When I pointed out that they had agreed to my request weeks earlier the gentleman said "that's ok we have one left on the ground floor but unfortunately we haven't turned the heater on prior". This was not a problem for me, however the unit receives no sun whatsoever, Dunedin (my home town)is a damp city especially during Winter months and the unit had a general odour of mound/dampness. The heater worked very well and soon warmed it up, however I was not particularly happy with the unit after this start to checkin.
