We liked the historic nature of the hotel, its proximity to the town of Cascais. The room was very good and comfortable with a decent view over the Marina. There was a good choice of breakfasts available and good coffee too!
I could only nitpick in that the seats on our terrace were not really that comfortable and a bit tired.

Gifts on arrival and departure,which was a lovely touch and a complimentary bottle of water every day
Staff are fantastic and a credit to the hotel
It was a bit of a trek from our room to outdoor pool,so we didn't avail of it as it was too far for us.
Overall the room and bathroom could do with a spruce up,but it didn't take away from our holiday.

The location is excellent. The junior suite in the old building is large and well furnished
The staff are friendly but incompetent. It took 5 calls and 3 hours to get things delivered to the room. House keeping had to be called numerous times to do the room well after 3pm. Luggage was not collected from the room as the front desk did not answer the phone
