Manager Marie threw my wet clothes on my bed whilst I was at work all day, as they were drying on the side of my bed due to the dryers being broke and supposedly 'getting fixed' past 4 weeks and not drying my clothes properly at all. Came home from work to a nice smelly damp bed&pile of clothes :)

We stayed in a private room with a nice panorama view overlooking the city. The room and bathroom were very clean. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Thank you for the flexibility with the check out time. We had a pleasent stay overall and would highly recommend to others!

I liked the location and the staff were very kind.
The private room was big and there weren't any noise. I will recomend the private rooms only.
In general de building is old and not well mantained. The kitchen ventilation is not well designed.

Staff were immensely helpful with any questions, issues or requests.
Carpets dirty, bedding smelly, horrendously designed shower, tobacco and lint left in drawers, so much black mold on windows seals and panes due to virtually no ventilation unless door to balcony left wide open, balcony inaccessible despite no mention of this in website, also no TV, kettle, toaster, lamp and bedside table as displayed in promotional images. There is also no decent ceiling light in the room and it's very dank and depressing. Broken drawers to dresser, broken clothing rail fittings that couldn't keep the hanging pole in place once it held weight, and non-existent towel racks, just the loose brackets on the back of the doorCleaning done by other backpackers so there was absolutely no incentive to do it properly, and the communal kitchen was an absolute disaster site. Poorly arranged to the extent of actually being hazardous and so unbelievably filthy. There was also a rusting metal locker in the communal lounge literally sitting in a sizable puddle of water, and was notably musty smelling. Also someone urinated in the stairwell at some point. Staff were helpful, but any maintenance or upkeep is not a priority. Fire and safety information on the back of the room door not only displayed incorrect "You are Here" marker for a different room, but was also so outdated (~1968) that a previous title of the building was still listed. Unfortunately all of this combined made for a sickly and uncomfortable stay, considering I paid for a private room for a month and that is simply far too long to be exposed to such an unclean environment. Highly recommend employing qualified cleaning services for at least monthly sanitation. Also please educate all staff on accepted Australian Identification.

We liked pretty much everything. Staff was friendly and helpful, neighborhood was great and beautiful, beds were ok and comfy. I was a fair price for what we've got.
The bedroom was a bit too dark and the kitchen was a bit dirty.

Convenient location for concert at the Palais. Friendly staff.
Think I was overcharged at the bar.

Not worth the money. Absolutely crazy prices knowing that backpackers are forced to pay it (due to limited accommodation in Melbourne). The hostel itself was average. Big rooms but standard bunk beds, kitchen is tiny in relation to the sheer size of the hostel so virtually impossible to cook at peak times. Staff working at the hostel are amazing, great help and always in great spirit :)

Big ladies dorm 214 pancake Sunday 🥞 😋 extra effort 👌 in cleaning is appreciated ,but more work to do still? Thank you 😊 💓
Being moved last 2 nights, mouldy smells coming from bathrooms , more so since the wet weather in Melbourne , people are being moved quite frequently , because of a booking issued getting busy times they say, it's more work to check people in and out of rooms than leaving them stay, if there's beds available when housekeeping staff are on site why not for paying guests, doesn't leave a good reputation for international visitors, , for the price and bad treatment? Cattle in a stockade? We love to mingle but on our own terms? Long term stays shouldn't be in one dorm only? Some didn't more at all , sharing is caring? Be more hospitable?
