Jade the host is lovely and very accommodating. The building has some beautiful old school charm like creaky stairs and a nice change to modern hotels. The room was big enough and very clean and had comfortable furnishings. The other residents were very nice. Excellent value for money!
Nothing really. It’s not 5 star but it is safe and comfortable.

Tea & coffee facilities in room would be an excellent option

The room was clean and had its own private bathroom, which was very convenient. I also appreciated the small fridge inside the room. Check-in and check-out were very easy and everything was handled smoothly via Booking.
The location is great, close to shops and restaurants in Chapel Street.
The biggest issue was the cold: the window has a large gap, so cold air and noise from outside come in constantly. I tried to cover it with a towel, but it was still very cold. There’s no fixed heater, only an electric one, but it didn’t warm the room enough.
Unfortunately for me, it was quite cold in Melbourne during my stay, but I guess it would be much better during summer.
