Catania Crossing B&B - Rooms & Comforts

The accommodation is located right in the heart of Catania, which is a fantastic location, especially for visiting the local market just a step away. Its in the same street as you walk from the building you are in it :) Although the market is right below the windows, the noise was not too disturbing, which was a pleasant surprise. The accommodation is in a typical Italian residential building, giving it an authentic local feel. Breakfast consists of a croissant and a coffee, served at the betting shop just two doors down from the accommodation. It is a convenient way to start the day before exploring the city. The central location makes it easy to discover Catania on foot and experience the atmosphere of everyday Sicilian life.

Bathroom could benefit from some updating (shower), but was surprised with space in the bathroom which had plenty of storage space for personal belongings. There was also no iron available, which would have been useful.

I liked that the location was convenient and that the rooms looked exactly like in the pictures. The rooms were also clean, and we appreciated that breakfast was included in the price — a pastry and a coffee of our choice from the shop downstairs.

What I didn’t like was that at the end of our trip we encountered a not very friendly owner. Before our arrival, he suggested that we cancel the Booking reservation and said he would give us a discount, which we declined. Everything remained as originally booked and we paid for our stay in cash. However, the day before check-out, he canceled our reservation without our knowledge. When we asked him about it, instead of apologizing or trying to resolve the situation, he started shouting at us and blamed his son, saying that his son had accidentally canceled the reservation. When we told him that we would contact Booking about the situation, he became even more aggressive and continued shouting at us. What was especially unpleasant was that there was no apology or genuine attempt to take responsibility for what had happened — only excuses and shifting the blame onto his son. The issue is not the money; it was simply a very bad feeling to be put in this situation and then treated this way when we asked for an explanation. Without this incident, our experience with the apartment would have been significantly better, because the apartment itself is actually very good.

Tutto curato nei minimi dettagli. Ben pulito, curato. Ottimo soggiorno e fantastico il proprietario Alessandro!!!
