Ostello degli Elefanti

I had an absolutely wonderful seven-night stay at Ostello degli Elefanti in Catania in a four-bed female-only dorm. The hostel has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and always willing to assist. The location is perfect for exploring Catania, with everything you need within easy reach. One of the biggest highlights is the rooftop bar. After a long day of working or sightseeing, it is the perfect place to relax while enjoying a spectacular view of Mount Etna. Having both breakfast and dinner included adds excellent value to the stay. The hostel also has a dedicated coworking space, which makes it an especially good choice for digital nomads and travellers who need to work while exploring. Overall, Ostello degli Elefanti offers a wonderful combination of comfort, hospitality, convenience and atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed my seven nights there and would happily recommend it to any traveller visiting Catania.

Entrance to dormitories goes via gritty courtyard, lockers could be improved, loud neighborhood at night

The location in the very center is excellent. There are shared relaxation or work rooms next to the reception with balconies open to the historical street. Hostel staff is very nice :-)

The room was very cold in February. The airconditioner barely heat-up to 20 deg during the night. There was WiFi connection but no internet access. In the morning I was queuing 20 min to get basic yogurt and coffee ☹️
