Carrubba

Great location. We stayed in the ground floor suite which was right on the water. Room was perfect for us.

Not too impressed with the Male servers on the patio. Kind of rude most of the time. Females were very nice/helpful. The included breakfast was good although more variety would be nice. There were no helpful guides on anything inside the room.

Carrubba is a charming, small boutique hotel in the quiet area of Donja Lastva, around a 15-minute walk from Porto Montenegro. With only a handful of rooms, it felt peaceful and personal, and the waterfront setting was probably our favourite part. Being able to step straight from the hotel’s jetty into the clear sea was quite special. The hotel provided yoga mats which you could roll out on the jetty and place your towel over, making it surprisingly comfortable for lying out in the sun. It was such a simple touch, but something we found quite unique and it really added to the relaxed, European feel and charm of the hotel. Breakfast was another real highlight. It was served outside right by the water and was fresh, generous and much more substantial than we expected, with both starter and main options. The shakshuka and eggs were particularly good. Sitting by the sea for breakfast was a lovely way to start each morning. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, with a great balcony, and the artwork and more traditional style gave the hotel plenty of character. The location also worked really well for us. Porto Montenegro, restaurants, cafés and ice cream spots are within walking distance, while Kotor, the cable car and nearby beach clubs are easily accessible by taxi. Nikola was especially helpful throughout our stay, particularly with arranging taxis, which made getting around much easier. Overall, the staff were friendly and welcoming and we really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere.

Very little. There isn’t much shade on the jetty as expected, so if you plan to spend some time relaxing there, a hat and plenty of sun cream are useful. The hotel also isn’t ultra-modern, but we felt that was part of its charm and suited the boutique setting.

The Carrubba is a very nice boutique hotel in a lovely location. We had a room with a terrace with fabulous views over the lake. The room was very spacious, nice bathroom, lounge and bedroom. Bed was comfortable. The terrace was lovely to sit out on and enjoy a drink! There was not much interaction with staff as it is a small hotel, but they were always pleasant. All in all a great place to stay.

We may have misunderstood but we thought the hotel had its own restaurant, but realised quite quickly the restaurant was a separate business, which was fine, except you really needed to book a table for breakfast, even as a hotel guest, as it was always pretty busy with non resident customers. Ok, in itself not a major issue, but at over 350 euros a night it did seem a bit off! Breakfast was excellent though!

breakfast is delicious but there ahs to be more choice.

we get the breakfast in the restaurant near hotel. they have a special deal i guess. but the staff was not kind
