The Pitlochry Hydro Hotel

Great room! Great breakfast and dinner!! Beautiful hotel and surroundings! Walking distance to the lovely little town of Pitlochry! We will be back!!!

On site parking.We had a corner room which was a bonus as we could get some airflow going with open windows. The room was a decent size. We had a good dinner in the restaurant on one night. Breakfast included. Provided gluten free bread & cereal as well as milk options. Staff were helpful in the dining room despite being busy. Location was only a 10 minute walk downhill to the town centre and about 15 back. We stopped at the lovely Church of Scotland on the way back one day.

The hotel is a little dated although we understand the bathrooms are being gradually remodelled. Ours hadn't been and had the shower over the bath, which had a chip out of it. Not ideal for older guests. The toilet had old scale staining - a sign of it's age. Bring on the remodelling! Buffet breakfast suits some people.

The location was good.

We did not like the attitude of the man on the reception we booked the hotel as it stated it allowed dogs, however when we got to the reception the man on the reception stated that we should have informed them about bringing a dog and that we had to pay £20 extra. I stated that we had only booked the hotel because it excepted dogs and that it did not say we had to inform the hotel or pay extra, he said that it does state it on the page. He was so rude, and his attitude was unacceptable 😤. I explained to him that I had rung the hotel before I booked to check that they did take dogs, and had been told they did and there was no mention of informing them or having to pay extra. We had been driving for 6 hours and were tied and did not expect to be spoken to like this. UNACCEPTABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
