Pitlochry Dundarach Hotel

Many Hotel owners throughout Scotland would do well to spend the night at Dundarach. Everything was excellent but particularly the freshly cooked breakfast, such a difference from the dried out offerings served from under heat lamps. Come on Scotland this hotel does the job properly, brilliantly, you can do the same, make Scotland proud again. By the way, the views are stunning.

Nothing to not like.

Great breakfast staff, delicious breakfast, very clean room and comfortable beds.

Wifi can be hit and miss but otherwise all good.

The breakfast was excellent. You could tell how fresh everything was and all served quickly and with a smile.

The bathroom wasn’t great because of the shower. The water pressure coming from the shower head was dreadful. It ran hot and cold and just wasn’t what we expected for the cost of the room. Also, lots of spiders crawling over the walls and on the net curtains!

On arrival the hotel looked beautiful, we were placed in the annexe of the hotel which was a little bit of a let down. The views from the window in the room were beautiful, but there was no character to our building. The breakfast staff were lovely & very attentive, the breakfast was nice and cleanliness of the room was so good.

The door latch on the toilet in our room was broken. Every single picture in the hotel was squint. The hotel lacked any atmosphere of warmth or welcoming. Initially on check in the lady was pleasant, took us to our room and was chatty enough- although appeared to change when told we were not staying in her establishment for dinner. On my husband going to the bar for drinks he tried to engage in conversation with the man behind the bar, however was made to feel like his conversation & request for drinks was an inconvenience as the bar man/possible management of the hotel was too interested in another person in the bar and their discussion about his ‘Bentley’. This is really disappointing, we chose this hotel as it appeared to be quaint and was for our special occasion of our 1st wedding anniversary. I am only glad that we booked the theatre also as this anniversary treat would have been a ‘damp squib’ without it.
