The Borough Lancaster

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The young manager in charge was outstanding, giving a warm welcome and a personal introduction to all facilities in the inn and in the room, brilliant! The evening meals were excellent and there was a great atmosphere in the restaurant, it was clearly a very popular place to eat and the quality of the meals was exceptional whatever we chose, portions were generous and very tasty indeed. A lot of care was taken with meal preparation by an excellent chef with all fresh ingredients and a lot of home baking. The inn is very characterful, and is in a nice quiet location with very interesting local architecture to explore in the park and in the streets outside. Our room and bed were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Parking was available close by at reasonable rates.

Nothing really, the extractor fan wasn't working in our bathroom, but this is only a very minor issue.

Fabulous, spacious bathroom, lovely biscuits. Central so we could walk to shops and restaurants.

A very minor point but I would have preferred glass bottles of spring water to the tap water provided in the room.

this is the second time I've stayed at the Borough and it was just as good this time than the last. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The range of beers was great and the breakfast was something else! The rooms are so comfy too!

nothing! they have it just right

The size of the room was fabulous. The shower room was great. The location was ideal and the staff were nice.

the room wasn't clean, it had been surfaced cleaned but not routinely deep cleaned. And we didn't get a service clean over the two days we stayed which meant the bins weren't emptied and we had to ask for extra towels, loo rolls etc. The breakfast was disappointing, what i ordered wasn't what was delivered and that wasn't ideal. The service was really slow and that meant i was late for the appointment i'd travelled for. We didn't dine in for that reason.
