Republica Hotel Yerevan

We enjoyed staying in this hotel. The reception staff were welcoming and spoke excellent English. We had a nice spacious room with comfortable beds, and a lovely bathroom. WiFi worked well. The hotel is well located on a buzzing street near Republic Square and in walking distance of many of the sights.

It's difficult for taxi drivers to stop directly outside the hotel, which made for some tricky pick-ups and drop-offs.

Check in staff were helpful and friendly. Upgraded room for a repeat visit was appreciated. Location close to the main square but not on it was excellent for the big fireworks on display. Nice bathroom and ninth floor view was better than lower down.

Aircon is very noisy and more of a fan than true aircon. In the end we resorted to turning it off.

Great breakfast with a good variety of options.

However, the reception experience was disappointing. We arrived late at night, and check-in took about 30 minutes because our Booking.com reservation couldn’t be found. It was eventually located only after I suggested searching by phone number, which worked immediately. We were also asked to pay a deposit for minibar use, but after clarification, it turned out to be optional. Additionally, while waiting, we witnessed another guest being assigned to an already occupied room, which was concerning. Overall, the front desk felt disorganized, which is not what you would expect from a hotel of this level.
