Very friendly lovely host, a local man with a young family. Who made us all feel very welcome and could not do enough to accommodate us. Our apartment was modern, clean and could not be faulted with great views of the mountains. Rudina is 2km north of Stari Grad and away from the bustling tourists and therefore much quieter, it is a 30 minute walk into town or a cab ride. There are plenty of quiet secluded beaches on this side of the island which we loved to discover, all seemed to be about a 20 minute walk. Excellent all round.

At first we thought the location we had chosen would be too quiet but soon learnt to appreciate the seclusion and surrounding quiet beaches, if you need some night life then Stari Grad is only 2 km away and if you want to party Hvar Grad is a bus ride..

The unit was beautiful, very well maintained and very clean. The owner was incredibly gracious and accommodating. We had to book at the last minute after our original apartment fell through, and the owner had no problem welcoming us in late and ensuring we had a safe, clean place to spend the night. He was so very friendly, and such a welcome exchange after a trying day.

Mario is a very nice host. What we really liked about the accommodation was that the double bed is very comfortable, the apartment is very clean, nicely furnished, we received quality, clean towels and sheets, which could have been changed every few days (but we prefer to protect the environment from unnecessary washing). We were happy with the fullsized stove, the toaster, quality cutlery and knives. It was good that there was a selective waste collector in front of the house. We are also grateful for the good advice on where to find good beaches. Mario was always available and helped us if we needed something.

Unfortunately there are no moskito nets on the windows, no aircondition in the bedroom, no hooks for towels in the bathroom. The apartment is more suitable for only two persons. The balcony is not really suitable for sitting and having meals because it is narrow and there is only a small table. The apartment is quite far from the town and the beaches so you have to take the car even for getting fresh bread every morning.

We are so pleased we booked to stay at Mario’s apartments in Stari Grad. Mario was a wonderful host. When we arrived in Stari Grad Mario kindly offered to pick us up from the ferry and even took us to a supermarket. He is kind, generous and helpful and truly made our stay. The apartments were clean and beautifully decorated, with comfy beds, great air con and a kitchen with all that you could possibly need. We particularly liked the balcony with views of the mountains. The area around the property is beautiful, a lovely hamlet peppered with lemon trees, vibrant flowers and cute cottages. It is just a short, pleasant walk through the trees to the nearby beach, which we had all to ourselves. Beach zukova is the best in hvar and we spent several days and evenings there. It is about a 25 minute walk to town, which was fine for us, and easy to get taxis back up the hill. All in all we are so glad we stayed here rather than in the town. An absolute gem and a wonderful host. Thank you!

An ideal place to stay. Modern spacious air-conditioned apartment, very quiet. The best possible location! A three-minute drive to the center of Stari Grad and five minutes to a complete paradise for those looking for a secluded bay to spend a great day by the sea.
