Bolivian Heights Hostel

We stayed at Bolivian Heights Hostel for two nights as a couple and had a great experience. Marcelo at reception was extremely helpful, confirming the best things to do in La Paz and even helping us get Cholitas Wrestling tickets at the very last minute. Carmela, the owner, was exceptional. She shared great local tips, including what to see and what to avoid, and was genuinely focused on making sure we had a great stay. The breakfast was excellent and is served on the top floor, which has fantastic panoramic views over the whole city. We also enjoyed using the terrace to take some great photos during both the day and evening. The shower was good, the Wi-Fi worked well, and overall the hostel offered everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We would definitely recommend Bolivian Heights Hostel to anyone visiting La Paz!

Es gibt genug Badezimmer, alles war sauber, die Lage war super zentral (3 Minuten zu Fuß zum Busbahnhof und auch ins Stadtzentrum läuft man nur ca. 10 Minuten). Toll, dass es einen Wasserspender gibt (kostenlos), auch der Wäscheservice hat gut funktioniert. Da ich vor der offiziellen Frühstückszeit los musste, habe ich sogar schon früher ein Frühstückstablett bekommen!

Es gibt keine Küche, dessen sollte man sich bewusst sein (war für mich aber für eine Nacht kein Problem).

Great location, 3 min away from the buses heading to Copacabana and Lake Titicaca, which made an early start easy. The gentleman at reception was exceptionally kind and helpful: he stored my luggage while I went to Copacabana, sorted out my laundry, and even arranged an early breakfast for me before my departure. The restaurant staff were lovely too. Excellent value for money.

Worth knowing that the rooms have no heater, so in the colder months you’ll want to sleep in warm layers. Service at reception was also a little inconsistent depending on who was on shift; not unfriendly, just noticeably less warm than the rest of the team.
